    Sound Problem on Computer

I just restored my Dell XPS 400 to factory default and now the sound doesn't work at all, and if it does, it cracks a lot and is inaudible. Anyone that can offer any help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Use realtek audio 97 sound drivers. I'm not sure if that's the exact name but it's somethin like that.

      Go to support.dell.com

      Click on Search for Drivers

Either look for the Model number or just put in the service code (can be found by the serial number of the computer)

Once you find your model of your computer, install everything you need.

You can check which drivers you need by clicking on Start > Right Click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager

Anything in here that has a yellow exclamation point, you'll need a driver for.

Didn't see any exclamation points and it says all my drivers are working properly.

The ones installed are, but you need to install audio drivers.

There are like 6 or 7 already installed, and this is the first time after I restored to factory default that this has happened.

Then you need to upgrade the drivers. Find the brand of your sound card and go to their website. You should be all set after that.
