Part of the problem with an Axl/Slash reunion for making new music is that a big part of the breakup was a disagreement in the direction of the band's movie. Axl wanted to incorporate elements of hip-hop and industrial while Slash wanted to keep it straight-on rock. Chances are any reunion would be just playing old songs and not recording anything new.

Re: Velvet Revolver Boot Weilend!
Hmm, this doesn't surprise me at all after the article I read a week and a half ago:
Saturday, March 22, 2008
At a Velvet Revolver show in Glasgow, Scotland last week, lead singer Scott Weiland shocked the crowd (and even the members of his band) when he announced from the stage that this would be the band's last tour together.
He told the sell-out crowd: "You're watching something special... the last tour by Velvet Revolver."
A fan who attended the show wrote on the band's forum, "Once [Scott announced from the stage that this was VR's last tour], Slash [guitar], Duff [McKagan, bass], Matt [Sorum, drums] and Dave [Kushner, guitar] all looked at each other. They sang 'Fall to Pieces', then Scott goes over to the side of the stage and argues with the sound guy. After a couple of songs, he threw his mic down and walked off. After a long wait, Duff came out with the band and sang the start of 'It's So Easy'. Scott shows up about half way through, sang really half-assed then gone again..."Comment

I too think that STP > Pearl Jam. In a way I'm glad STP is reuniting but I'm also a bit disappointed as Velvet Revolver was pretty good. But as mentioned, Slash and Axl need each other just like Weiland needs STP!Comment

This kind of sucks, but now maybe Velvet could get journeyman Chris Cornell to join.Comment

Re: Velvet Revolver Boot Weilend!
Cornell has also been announced as part of the Projekt Revolution tour as well. Of course that can change I suppose.Goozex

Re: Velvet Revolver Boot Weilend!
Glad Weilend is going back to STP as I think they are far superior to Velvet Revolver. Just never really was a big fan of anything or anyone involved in GNR... and these guys were basically Guns without Axel."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

I'd love to see Josh Todd of Buckcherry take over VR. It's been hinted.Goozex

Re: Velvet Revolver Boot Weilend!
LOL! I was cracking a joke with that one. I don't know if Cornell could sound good with Revolver. I liked Audioslave a lot and still enjoy their music, but meshing Cornell with the RATM boys just didn't fit right on certain tunes. I wish that Soundgarden would get back together again, but both Cornell and Kim have said countless of times that they won't get back together again.Comment
