I cracked up at that joke it sounds so perfect.
Yeah that's funny but I wish they didn't give it away. Would've been an awesome "WTF?" moment seeing him walk in like that, thinking 'oh he really turned his life around!'

Guys... it's actually happening. It's not like how the movie kept being rumored and rumored and never happened.

Netflix inked a deal to show new eps in 2013.

      I can't believe it. It's happening. Awesome.

Was just figuring a film version would be made. Surprised to hear this do to the Netflix's budget and the current status of some of the key actors. Michael Cera and Jason Bateman command decent movie salaries and Will Arnett just started a TV series that is likely to be renewed for at least another season. Unless they are doing it for their fans, their salaries will likely be significantly increased, particularly Cera's and Bateman's. Even Arnett makes $75,000 per episode for Up All Night.

Netflix has already committed $75 million (a low ball estimate) to two seasons (26 episodes) of their first original program, House Of Cards starring Kevin Spacey.

            Re: The Arrested Development Thread

I'm going to assume they will take a pay cut. Also, $75,000 an episode isn't really that much in comparison to the top salaries television actors on networks bring in.

Most networks try to keep top billing at around $75K-150K an episode unless it's a super-duper big show (I know. Must be nice).

One thing the article doesn't mention is the Netflix series may not have every actor in every episode. That will keep costs down. It was mentioned elsewhere previously when the deal was being discussed.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

That's about right. The three leads of The Big Bang theory (Parsons, Galecki, and Cuoco) just got a bump from $75,000 per ep to $250,000 per ep.

Was just watching the episodes with Carl Weathers, the cheap, penny pinching, stew loving, "drama coach" for Tobias, and was just reminded how funny this show was.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa whoa, there's still plenty of meat on that bone. Take this home put it in a pot with some broth and a potato...
Baby, you got a stew goin'.

Good news. This "all at once release" by Netflix was done with it's first original series, Lillyhammer (Steven Van Zandt starring).

Wow don't read the Lillyhammer plot on Wiki as it includes major spoilers. Terrible.

Anyway, I'll still watch. Sounds like a cool show, and of course I can't wait till season 4 of Arrested Development premieres on Netflix.

Real entertaining show, and I look forward to season 2. (Whenever E Street Band finishes it's tour).

Awesome to hear that there is a possibility of the show just coming back as a series on Netflix instead of just a single season and then a movie.

                              Re: The Arrested Development Thread

I was just watching this show for the first time, and I tried to get my girlfriend to watch it as well... After about two episodes, she said something to the tune of

"I hate these characters, only Michael and George Michael are likeable, and George Michael likes his cousin, though, this just isn't funny."

As I continued to stay up late and watch five or six episodes a night, I realized that people like my girlfriend are the reason the best comedy is off the air. I personally love the 800 plot lines the story gives out and continually brings back, randomly. Also, the characters are perfect, the whole point of the show is to have characters that are not likeable upon first glance, but as you get to know them, they are awesome... every one of them...

I hate the likable argument when it comes to shows or movies.

                                People aren't likable. That's real.
