Yeah the finale didn't feel like a finale. If that's the last moment ever in Arrested Development, disappointing. Does anyone know how the watch numbers are for this season, relative to what Netflix was expecting? A friend of mine told me in the first week or so that they were disappointed with how many people had watched (I was waiting until I could get a group of people together all on the same day to watch it), I'm curious if it's picked up since then.

Would be nice to see a movie or another 5th season, although I would hope they can manage to coordinate more time with all of the actors/actresses together at the same time. Who knows though.

I won't say I'm disappointed with season 4, I fully expected that it wouldn't be able to live up to the 3 preceding seasons. Plus, there were still plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and jokes that I'll surely catch upon a second watch. I'll just be disappointed if that's the end of Arrested Development.

I think people have the wrong idea about the "finale."

The entire season was designed to be able to watch the episodes in any order. They all intertwined, and you would find out new information about each storyline no matter what order you chose to watch the episodes in. So, the "finale" wasn't really a finale... It was just another episode. That's why the final episode according to the order they were placed on Netflix it was disappointing.

I think the fact that the season truly didn't have an "ending" and that it was more of just an update on where all the characters are is a good indicator that Hurwitz is serious about a feature film. I'm sure if he thought this would be the final time anyone would see these characters, he would have given the fans a little more closure.

        Ahem.

For months now we’ve been hearing that the new episodes of Arrested Development can be viewed in any order—thanks either to Mitch Hurwitz’s brilliant construction, or the fact that, surprise, they’re actually just plotless tone poems, full of characters spouting non-sequiturs in a desperate attempt to generate more quotables. As it turns out, Hurtwitz made a huge error in judgment, as the saying goes. “You gotta watch them in order,” Hurwitz clarified via Twitter last night, shortly after he said he’d finished the “final mix” on the 15 new episodes. “Turns out I was not successful in creating a form where the setup follows the punch line.” The bartender says, “Sorry, we don’t serve food.” A ham sandwich walks into a bar…. Okay, we can see where Hurwitz is coming from. Anyway, when the episodes appear en masse on May 26, keep in mind you have to watch in order, or you won’t find them as funny (for reasons that are well within your control).

          Hmmm... Never caught that news.

I watched them out of order, except saved ep 15 for last (not because it was last in order, but because the Michael and George Michael story line was turning out to be my favorite as I watched), and I don't feel like I missed anything or got a less enjoyable experience than I would have had a watched them 1-15 in order.

I think you can get something interesting out of it by watching out of order.

But the last scene is the last scene, no? Or am I forgetting something from the first episode?

I watched the first episode last night. I don't know how to describe it, but overall I enjoyed it at least.

I flew by the first three seasons with ease, but I'm having trouble finishing the fourth. I'm not sure what it is, but I think it has to do with how the episodes have been focusing on each characters perspective. I'm not really enjoying it at all. I want to see more of George Michael and his dad, Maeby, and the family altogether

The last four episodes saved this season for me. Much more GM, maeby and buster and I thought they were all hilarious. Those episodes made me want a season 5.

Just listened to the Nerdist podcast with Mitch Hurwitz, if you're an Arrested fan, you should give it a listen, some cool stuff from Mitch in there, (like that he wanted Rainn Wilson for GOB).

It has spurred me to start my (seemingly) almost annual re-watch of Arrested Development. Seasons 1-3 at least. Might give S4 another go if I'm feeling it.

I never have finished season 4. I should do that some time.

It finishes alot stronger than it started (assuming you're watching them in order)

I am mildly happy and reserving full blown joy for if it comes out that the episode structure is going back to normal.

                              Hopefully.

Yeah, hopefully they do it right this time. I wanted to like season 4 so badly, but outside of a few pretty funny bits, it wasn't great.
