Rick Reilly
I got into Rick Reilly's archives for the zillionth time, and my mind started boggling at the concept of anyone, let alone a sports fan, disliking the guy.

Re: Rick Reilly
SI hasn't been the same without him. I always looked forward to his column every week and now I rarely even look at that page. -

Re: Rick Reilly
I havent read much of his stuff for a couple of years now, but for me he was hit or miss. His stuff was usually good, but he sometimes came across as a bit condescending. I think it was him bashing soccer that made me dislike him, and also him telling Sosa to pee in a cup was ridiculously insulting. It still blows my mind how Americans can bash soccer, but still love nascar.Comment

"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
