Rick Reilly

I got into Rick Reilly's archives for the zillionth time, and my mind started boggling at the concept of anyone, let alone a sports fan, disliking the guy.

So I'm curious to know if any of you on OS don't care for him or his writing, and any reasoning you may have.

SI hasn't been the same without him. I always looked forward to his column every week and now I rarely even look at that page.

Reilly is the the prime reason I kept subscribing to Sports Illustrated. As a sports journalist I look up to his writing tremendously.

Yeah, he was the reason I went into journalism, too.

C'mon, there has to be somebody out there that doesn't like him.

Same here, and he's also the reason I no longer have a subscription to SI.

I also looked up to him as a journalist.....Also let my SI run its course without the renewal.

              So uh....pretty influential guy eh?

I havent read much of his stuff for a couple of years now, but for me he was hit or miss. His stuff was usually good, but he sometimes came across as a bit condescending. I think it was him bashing soccer that made me dislike him, and also him telling Sosa to pee in a cup was ridiculously insulting. It still blows my mind how Americans can bash soccer, but still love nascar.

                    I hate him.

He writes the same story 4 or 5 times a year.

I really enjoyed Reilly as well. SI hasn't been the same and it's always disappointing turning to the last page and reading some other random crap instead of a nice article by Reilly.
