Anyway, just wanted people to stay tuned, see how far she can go. I know four games isn't much, but she's already totaled about $150,000 in four days.

Anybody watching Jeopardy lately?
I haven't been able to watch Jeopardy the last few days, but just watched the last five with my parents, and this one fine young gal, Larissa Kelly, has won the last four days, and has proven herself to be a phenomenally bold and "clutch" player thus far. She's getting all of the Daily Doubles, and normally betting no less than $7000 for all of them. She's fun to root for, too. She even had a chance to beat Ken Jennings' single game dollar amount in Final Jeopardy, but decided to bet short of it to seal the win.

Re: Anybody watching Jeopardy lately?
The funny thing about her is, she really starts snooping around for those Daily Doubles till she gets them. She may be comfortable with a topic and run it down, and then she'll just start snooping. I presume it won't be long until contestants catch onto her game, but she's one of those people that you really want to win.
The one woman she beat who won the day before her first win was pissed all game, it was great!Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Anybody watching Jeopardy lately?
Another interesting factoid: Larissa's husband competed against Ken Jennings during his run.
Today's Saturday (obviously), so it won't be on whatever continuous run the rest of the show is going on... meaning Larissa isn't on tonight. You'll have to wait until Monday to see her again.
Kind of a cutie, too. Re: Anybody watching Jeopardy lately?
Pfft, that wouldn't do much. Now if Jeopardy was a network show then that'd make a lot more sense but since it's on syndication it has its own built in audiences. A Ken Jennings situation will spike the ratings for sure but not to the point that it gets into fixing the game.
Plus, I don't think any game show producer worth his/her salt wants to repeat the excesses of the Twenty-One scandal.
Jennings wasn't even that great, he got his *** smoked by that one guy in the "best of" show. He might have even finished 3rd that time and I think he even lost another time too in another gimmick show they had.Comment

Re: Anybody watching Jeopardy lately?
I try to watch most weeknights, and have seen her. She is good.
Unless a contestant is local, I really don't pull for any one in particlular. I do start pulling for a contestant if they show a lot of moxy and bet big on a daily double.Comment

Re: Anybody watching Jeopardy lately?
The fix is definately in, just not in the way you think of knowing the questions beforehand. When Jennings started his run and ratings and national attention started to rise with it after a few weeks, Jennings opponents' were the biggest group of idiots that you could imagine. They were definately chosen from the absolute bottom portion of the contestant list.Comment

Re: Anybody watching Jeopardy lately?
there was some big scandal in the '50s, before my time. the movie "Quiz Show" was based on the scandal.
there is so much too lose if it ever is found out that a show like that is cheating, I do not see how much can really be gained.Comment

I believe that was The $64,000 Question, but in that case the answers were supplied to a contestant.Comment

Re: Anybody watching Jeopardy lately?
What really amazed me was when she hit the Daily Double on the first question of a category called "Family Plots" which could have been about a lot of things (turns out it was about literary families, but I thought it meant famous family graves or something like that)....she bet $8000! And of course, she got the question right.“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. Re: Anybody watching Jeopardy lately?
A ratings boost can be gained, as evidenced by Ken, but if anyone associated with the show can be proven to have knowledge of. or a hand in the fixing of the outcome they could go to jail.Comment

Not only individuals go to jail, but the show would be finished. Still would be a foolish risk.Comment

Haha, first time I saw this thread...
That woman sucks! She talks like Michelle from American Pie, she's not that cute, and she looks like she's about to freaking keel over in some of the episodes. Making fun of her is one of our favorite things to do in my apt. building.Comment
