    2008-2009 Broadcast Schedule

Figured we could have a thread dedicated to the new schedule where we can talk about old favorites, new shows we're anticipating, disappointing schedule blocking, and shows that we think will be gone in a month.

The following link will show you the new schedule.

    http://reporter.blogs.com/pilotseaso...-schedule.html

    ***

I'm looking forward to two new shows.

Dollhouse from Joss Whedon because I'm a big Buffy and Angel fan and I've heard great things about Firefly. I'm surprised he is working with FOX again after they screwed up his Firefly series (google it for more information) but this series looks interesting.

It seems that Whedon agreed to work with FOX because he wanted to work with Eliza Dushku (hotness alert!) and she had just signed a new deal with FOX.

    Synopsis:

In Dollhouse, Dushku plays a young woman named Echo, a member of a group of people known as "Actives" or "Dolls" who volunteered for the work in the Dollhouse. They give up five years of their lives, and at the end they receive a large sum of money and no memory of anything they did for the Dollhouse. The Dolls have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas, including memory, muscle memory, skills, and language, for different assignments. They're then hired out for particular jobs, crimes, fantasies, and occasional good deeds. On missions, Actives are monitored internally (and remotely) by Handlers. In between tasks, they are mind-wiped into a child-like state and live in a futuristic dormitory/laboratory, a hidden facility nicknamed "The Dollhouse". The story follows Echo, who begins, in her mind-wiped state, to become self-aware.

    --------------------------------------

Fringe by J.J. Abrams because I love Lost and enjoyed Felicity. I'm also currently catching up on Alias on DVD and enjoying almost every minute of it as well.

Abrams is working on his fourth television show and the two-hour premiere on FOX is slated to cost $10 million. The premiere is scheduled to air on August 26 so it'll be an early start to the new season.

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information on the show but it's being described as a cross of the X-Files, Altered States, and Twilight Zone. Like his other shows it will have an overarching mythology.

Actor Joshua Jackson (Mighty Ducks, Dawson's Creek, The Skulls) has been signed as one of the leads.

In shocking news Beverly Hills: 90210 will have a spinoff called 90210 that will air on CW. I'd say it would be canceled if on another network but it's exactly what the CW crowd loves.

I've looked over this schedule and pretty much know how my days will work. I hate my Mondays and looks like I'll be watching some television online.

Mondays: I have to choose between Prison Break and Heroes. I don't know what to do. I also really like Big Bang Theory and Two And A Half Men. So, I'll be watching BBT at 8 (Dollhouse when it starts in January)...and then deciding over 30 minutes on what to do at 9. I'll probably go with Prison Break as NBC's online video player is light years better than FOX's.

Tuesdays: I'm going to start watching House and I'll watch Fringe at 9pm.

Wednesdays: Pushing Daisies at 8PM and nothing else.

Thursdays: Lost when it comes back. I'll probably make this a date night.

    Fridays: Nothing.

    Saturdays: Nothing.

Sundays: 60 Minutes at 7PM and the FOX Cartoon lineup starting at 8PM.

    Re: 2008-2009 Broadcast Schedule

I'm really excited for Dollhouse, and Fringe looks good too.

Monday: I won't get to check out "Chuck" because Big Bang/HIMYM is against Terminator (and then Dollhouse in Jan), also Heroes after.

Tuesday: House for sure, maybe check out The Mentalist.

Wednesday: Knight Rider vs. Pushing Daisies vs. Bones (House in Jan). Brutal decision, Pushing Daisies for sure and maybe check out KR to see if it's still fun. Also hope Dirty Sexy Money can continue to draw more fans, it's a cool show.

Thursday: Office (and spinoff eventually), Kitchen Nightmares, maybe check out a new show or two.

Friday: Maybe Bones in January, but not really a whole lot on Friday nights.

Saturday: Might catch the Knight Rider encore so I can DVR everything I'd like to see

Sunday: Amazing Race, Family Guy, might DVR a new show to check it out.

I'm sure I'll cut stuff because I only have so much time to watch stuff. Also, I watch "Reaper" on the CW and that's coming back sometime midseason.

      Re: 2008-2009 Broadcast Schedule

Allright so when I'm watching TV on these nights, this is what I'll be watching:

Mondays: Chuck (NBC) and Boston Legal (ABC)

Tuesdays: Nothing jumps out, I might give Opportunity Knocks (ABC) a shot. Of course Scrubs (ABC) when it comes on, too.

Wednesdays: Deal or no Deal (NBC), what else?

Thursdays: My Name is Earl (NBC), SNL/30 Rock (NBC), The Office/spinoff (NBC)

Fridays: Deal or no Deal (NBC), Friday Night Lights (NBC)

      Saturdays: College Football (ABC)

Sundays: Football Night/Sunday Night Football (NBC)

      --

I just realized that my entire TV schedule consists of only two of the networks, and is heavily just one of them.

it wasn't that good this season, but there are a lot of males who watch it and actually like it, it had some humor, but not much in the ones I've seen this season

                    Re: 2008-2009 Broadcast Schedule

Seems like a lot, but I record all the shows I watch. If I'm in front of a TV while their on, I'll watch, but usually I'm not home during the week so I watch them on Thursday night and Friday when working from home.

Monday- The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, Worst Week, CSI: Miami, Terminator: The Sarah Connor, Chronicles, Dollhouse, Prison Break

Might watch Chuck and Heroes this summer, but that's too much to record on 1 night

Tuesday- NCIS, The Mentalist (I'll give it a shot, nothing else recording at that time), Law & Order: SVU, Eli Stone, House, Fringe (Will FOX Cancel it? 90%)

Wednesday- Criminal Minds, CSI: NY, Law & Order, Pushing Daisies, Bones, House, 'Til Death, Do Not Disturb (Have 30mins left to fill)

Thursday- Survivor, CSI, The Eleventh Hour (Have a recording slot open, looks iffy), My Name Is Earl, 30 Rock, The Office, Life on Mars

                    Friday- Numbers, Crusoe

Saturday- Knight Rider (Encores, can't record during the week)

Sunday- Amazing Race, Medium, Desperate Houswives, The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy, American Dad
