    Lil Wayne- Tha Carter 3

Leaked yesterday and from what I've heard, it's a very dope album. I don't think it's a classic or anything it's hyped up to be, but it's a pretty solid album from Wayne.

I love Dr. Carter and Mr. Carter.....IMO, those two tracks steal the show a little bit. A Millie, Got Money, and some other songs bring the album quality down quite a bit though. Still a good listen.

I promised my friend that I'd listen to it and review it as long as he does the same for Joe Budden's Padded Room coming out in July, but I am the biggest Lil' Wayne *****. I hate Lil wayne. He's by far the most overrated rapper in the game.

I agree that he's been overrated the last 2-3 years based on one solid but not amazing mixtape, but the first two Carter albums were pretty good as far as "bling bling, I sell cocaine, no seriously, I really do sell cocaine, why won't you guys believe that I'm out selling cocaine?" albums go. The Carter 2 was a little off at times, but Tha Carter was a pretty damn good album as far as second tier, not close to classic, but still enjoyable albums go.

There are some really good songs on the C3, but like Rocky said, the T-Pain song and Lollipop and Comfortable bring it down IMO.

I also think it sounds more like a compilation of songs in random order as opposed to a real cohesive album like I think the Carter and Carter II were

I don't care about the hype. I'm a fan of Wayne and I'm not afraid to say that I think it's one of the best albums in the past few years. But I can't say classic for the simple fact that you can't call something classic until years later.

Great concepts and dope lyricism. Will be copping it June 10.

And oh yeah, I wish Wayne didn't have T-Pain on the album. The song may grow on me for a little bit, but T-Pain songs are only hot for the moment.

I haven't heard the entire album but I have checked out the 2 songs that you mentioned Rocky. "Mr. Carter" is decent but "Dr. Carter" is quite nice. Swizz Beatz production is outstanding on that cut and Wayne rides the beat pretty well. Also, "Tie My Hands" with Robin Thicke.

Some of the early cuts are meh but as you get into the album it gets better.

listened to it once... i think he needs to start writing lyrics or something. he has some good songs on there and some really good production, but he just goes on and on about absolutely nothing on most of his songs. i honestly think he could be one of the best rappers if he put more effort into his songs. right now i'd give it about a 3.5/5... i think Tha Carter and The Carter II are more complete albums.

Lil Wayne has a great voice NOW. he's just made it to something very much like what ODB had. It's just a distinct and individual sounding. Lyrically he just plays around and does a bit of the "what now, if i jump" stuff which is cool but nowhere near a lyricist or rappers skill.

he did a mix of a Jamacian accent along with some south slur thrown in and wrapped it up with some londonish dialect too.

he's cool, but the album is his best beacuse it's him exploiting the heck outta his sound, which is his voice.

I have never heard any of lil wayne's albums(solo) I heard some of the stuff he did with cash money back in the day and thought it was trash! All my homeboys swear that hes evolved in to this great rapper and tell me I should check out his music I just never have. The few songs that they played for me sounded like a watered down jay-z track or something. I keep saying I'm gonna give him a listen, do yall know where I can get his albums cheap?

Its a solid album, and I dont like Lil Wayne that much. I dont hate on him like alot of people, I actually give him respect. Hes certainly not the best rapper alive but hes not **** like most people act like he is.

I think theres too many soft songs, with girly sounding singers or weird/abstracty beats. Its not that they lack creativity, its just not my style. I like the simple, serious, bass bumpin beats that get me pumped. The Wayne songs I love are the ones that get your blood boiling, and pump me up. I thought the song with Fabolous and Juelz Santana would be one of those songs, but it didn't live up to the hype for me.

But oh well, they still sound good, just not really my taste when I want to listen to a Weezy song. Still a good album, and Mr Carter is a sick track.

He had a ghostwriter for a while, and Tha Carter was actually a really good album in terms of mainstream cocaine albums. Carter 2 was pretty solid, but some of the tracks are meh, but it does have some bangers (Fly In, Receipt, DBoy, Feel Me, Get Over). The thing with the Carter 2 is it has the middle-end of the album is significantly better than the beginning. Both albums are worth checking out, but don't go in expecting Illmatic or something.

I thought the song with Fabolous and Juelz Santana would be one of those songs, but it didn't live up to the hype for me.
It sounded like a mixtape song. All 3 can do significantly better.

Of the songs I've heard, Mr. Carter is easily the best. If it wasn't for Wayne's second verse, I would say it's a very hot song.
