    Problems with Dish Network receivers?

I've had Dish Network since February and just had my second ViP722 receiver crap out on me. Both times, I've had issues with the hard drive. Bad enough that I'm a 360 owner, now this? At least Dish is good about replacing them. Has anyone else had problems like this with their receivers?

622 DVR HDD was corruppted but i just erased everything and it worked fine.

I've heard of a couple of seperate instances of issues like yours but nothing widespread.

I wouldn't say its widespread, but yes there are issues with both Dish and Directv DVRs. The hard drives are running all the time and the these are not the best hard drives in the box because of the costs. Its just your regular hard drive you could buy at stores on the street. Some of them are going to fail.

I would request a new one, not a refurbished one, if they have made any design changes, you could benefit from those.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'll just have to grin and bear it, as now that I've had DVR, I can't go back.

I know what you mean. Man being able to watch what you want when you hit play is great
