I'm not against this...I've actually enjoyed some of the remakes out there, so if they do it well it'd be cool to see a more modern take on the summer camp battle with Jason! I know this is heresy among horror fans, but oh well.

Just seems like there is a lack of creativity (or maybe it's just laziness) out there. Instead of finding something new that nobody has done or thought of, lets just take someone elses art, change it up and call it mine. Movies and music are the two biggest culprits out there.

The thing of it is, it's not like there's a slot on the schedule that says, "Okay, guys... we need to have a movie by this date, or else!" I think not only remakes should be spread out, but movies in general. Seriously, there are too many movies at one time that I want to see so badly but just don't want to spend the money on six movies in six weeks. If they just held off on stuff as opposed to getting it right out the door, we'd have ideas from 2001 fresh for 2015.

Work with a solid fan base will always be Hollywood's first choice in making movies. Whether it be from adapting a book, play, or an older film, it's going to be favored by execs.

Hollywood is run by Business people now. Their goal is to make more money and these movies make money.

Creativity, unfortunately, has a small fan base and you don't make money from fan sites or crazed hard core fans.

Halloween - SUCK
The Fog - SUCK
Wicker Man - SUCK
House on Haunted Hill - SUCK
The Haunting - SUCK
etc and so on.

But, I love the Friday the 13th franchise, always have, always will. So my dumb *** will go see it, then promptly post back there on how much it sucked later that night.

I liked The Hitcher and didn't hate Hills Have Eyes. Both were watchable. Texas Chainsaw Massacre wasn't bad either.

BUT, I'd still rather none of them have been made as the originals always are better.

TCM is the only horror "remake" that I didn't laugh during.

The Hitcher had me laughing out loud at the scene at the end (hint: think male + truck)

I pretty much laughed everytime the bad people in THHE were on screen, and throughout most of the ending.

Etc.

That said, like EG, I'll still see this because Jason kicks ***.
