Great comedian...unfortunately his supreme court case kind of kick started(IMO) the loss of morals (in terms of TV/radio) in our country...ie allowing the FCC to allow pretty much whatever they wanted on TV and radio and not practically having to be "G" rated so to speak...anyone under 40 will probably have to go look it up...
Anyway, know one can tell the future, so I guess it wasn't his fault per se... W/ all that being said, he was a genius at what he did. RIP

Heard this on the news today. He is/was my favorite comedian of all time because his acts while hilarious hit on truths about things. Rather than really be a joke teller his material actually had messages behind them. The man was brilliant. Not to get into a religious discussion but I think one of my favorite things he did on stage was when he took the 10 Commandments and reduced them down to just 1. It was funny but brilliant and it actually worked. Im going to miss "Pappa Smurf"__________________________________________________ ____

That opening was better than 99.5% of the rap I've ever heard. I said before that Carlin got too curmugeon-y in his latter years, but still had some great stuff. This is still one of my all time favorites:

Sad news indeed. I remember the first concert of his I saw was on HBO over 25 years ago. I was only 14 at the time and man was it hilarious!
