This is a funny video from the beginning of the season in which Mike says that Pettitte's back injury is not a concern and five seconds later says that Beckett's back injury is a concern...

Not sure if you guys caught today's show. Mike was flying solo and addressed the speculation. Bottom line is it doesn't sound like they'll be doing a 20th year together.

Yeah i was getting ready to watch the game today on YES and i actually turned it on in the middle of him addressing it. Mike basically said he doesnt know what was going to happen the rest of the summer and that he and mad dogs relationship is still strained off the air but they are going to keep it professional on the air. Mike said he hasnt talked to chris all week so it doesnt look like things are going good.

Obviously it has something to do with Mike not wanting to work with Chris. Not sure what is leading to it.

HA! More than anything he probably wants a co-host to bow down to him and his "encompassing sports knowledge" more than Chris already does.

Francessa is one of those guys, and we all know them, who cannot be argued with. he believes what he believes and is not going to budge from his opinion. There is little, if any, give and take with him. He is self-absorbed and ego-centric.

I respect the amount of years he has in the business...all the way back to being a ghost writer for Jimmy the Greek. But I think he has fallen in love with himself. He is enamored of his relationship with some well-known players/coaches, as if this makes him better than others. He believes his inside information to be flawless, yet we have seen time and time again just how wrong he can be.

Mushnick in the NY Post rips his weekly for his overbearing attitude and "can do no wrong" persona. I don't agree with everything Mushnick writes either, and he is always looking for a fight, but in this case I can see his logic.

It's all showbiz. But Francessa has alienated his viewers and callers for the most part. Eventually that will come back to haunt him. He doesn't have the personality to carry a show on his own day in and day out week after week. And maybe he won't have to...maybe he is just tired of the whole grind.
