Scared Straight Cop buddy film starring Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines as two tenured Chicago detectives who were on the brink of retiring after one more big bust. Crystal and Hines seemed to have such a great chemistry on film. There's so many subtle verbal and non-verbal funny moments coupled with a great and simple story line. Unfortunately, this never made it to a sequel and of course had no chance once the passing of the great Gregory Hines occured.

Favorite movies that SHOULD have had a sequel
We've probably had something like this here before, but just rewatched one of my older favorites and wished they had done a sequel.....

From what I remember the critics did not give it alot of praise. -

F the critics....who cares about critics.... just a bunch of leechers and no talents. This thread is for the fans of certain movies. And F Hollywood and their rating scale. SS would have gotten a PG-13 rating by today's standards with 2 heineys..... 1 side shot booby and 1 F-bomb.
Moving right along............Comment

Man it must be that time of the month on OS forums today.....LOL! He didn't mean anything by his comment, just stating a fact. I personally loved Behind Enemy Lines, and while it did get a sequel it was garbage IMO. I would like to see Owen Wilson breaking in a new pilot and them getting in some dogfights.Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Favorite movies that SHOULD have had a sequel
Weird Al made a magical movie in the magical summer of 1989. It went up against blockbusters, and did pretty bad.
Critics slammed it, because they thought it was hackneyed, IIRC... Ebert hated it.
But it became a cult classic... even getting Weird Al to comment about feasibility of a sequel...
UHF. The movie. The legend. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UHF_(film)
SUPPLIES!
Here's a wiki quote that takes my hilarious shenanigans out of it:
According to Yankovic's Behind the Music episode, UHF enjoyed one of the most successful test screenings in Orion's history. Orion Pictures released UHF on July 21, 1989 as a hopeful summer blockbuster, hoping that Yankovic would pull them out of the water. But critical response was negative, and UHF was overshadowed in the theaters by much larger films such as Lethal Weapon 2, Batman, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The movie got a very poor rating and was out of the theaters the 1st week. He says that it wasn't a "critic movie". As "Weird Al" states in his commentary of the movie, UHF was thought to be the movie that would "save the studio" for Orion. He was treated very well because of this. He states in the commentary: "Every morning I would wake up to fresh strawberries next to my bed. Then, when the movie bombed, I woke up and...no more strawberries!"
Overcoming theatrical failure, UHF has since become a cult classic, becoming very popular on cable and home video, with out-of-print video cassettes selling on eBay for sizable amounts of money. After much pleading from fans, the movie was rereleased in Europe and North America on DVD in 2002 by MGM, and in its debut week it became a top ten bestseller in Variety. Although not officially marketed as a "special edition", the North American DVD contains numerous extras including a music video of the movie's theme song, a commentary track featuring director Jay Levey and Yankovic himself, and a deleted scenes reel with Yankovic's commentary.Rose City 'Til I Die
