    G-Unit : T.O.S. (Terminate On Sight)

well the album has leaked and is bangin, the beats outweigh the lyrics but 50 comes hard, banks goes at on a few, and yayo almost ruins it

    Re: G-Unit : T.O.S. (Terminate On Sight)

I was going to bring it up in the other topic, but I downloaded it and it's pretty much the exact opposite of what you'd expect from G-Unit.

    In a bad way.

    A very bad way.

G-Unit is clean beats, a catchy hook by 50, and hopefully hot verses by Banks and Buck and hoping that Yayo doesn't completely **** it up.

First off, there are 0 catchy hooks. Not a one. Second, all but one of the beats are awful. Towards the end, it's almost laughable. Literally, one of them sounds like a repeated dialtone. They sound like a Midi version of a SNES background music with Fruity Loops claps and drums over them. Thee verses are awful. There's one half of a good verse by Buck on "Party Ain't Over" but even that isn't good; it just sounds good compared to the rest of the horrible verses which brings to problem #3:

The lyrics are HORRIBLE. Aside from the few attempts at club songs, they rest of the lyrics are over the top gangster.

And by over the top gangster think less 36 Chambers or Straight Outta Compton and more CB4. I mean, they're ridiculously corny. 50 clearly forgot that he got shot, because on some of the tracks, he tries to rap like he did way back, but his slur kills it. Gone are the Banks verses where he casually flows over soft beats. Gone are the up beat Buck party verses. And Yayo is all over the album and not in the way some would like (that sentence is more clever than anything on the album).

There is only one good thing about the entire album; Let it Go is possibly the beat of the year. Best way to describe it is like a cross between One Blood and Breathe and some Linkin Park. Unfortunately the rapping is horrible. Granted, it still sounds good because the beat is that good, but they wasted the track.

Overall, the only thing I can think of is that this is a joke album. It's like a B Movie of a rap album. I honestly can't imagine anyone listening to this and saying it's a good album. Aside from Let it Go and the shots at Lil Wayne, this album blows. I like all the G-Unit albums from GRoDT to Documentary, and even Massacre and GRoDT have their place, but this is horrible.

      LOL

Honestly, I bought Beg for Mercy back in the day....was my ish, too.

After a couple of half *** listens to TOS, it's pretty bad. I haven't expected much from 50 lately and knew this would probably disappoint, so oh well. And you just can't expect much when Yayo is carrying a large part of the load. Heard a couple of decent Banks verses, however.

Possibly the funniest thing is 50s first line on the album:

          'N**** this is boo boo!"

I mean, I get that that's his gangster name, but it's impossible to not laugh when he says it.

On second listen, I'm bumping it's grade up to 1.5/5. I forgot that the first few songs are decent before you realize that they're serious.

                  I'd give this a C-

the best song is actually the first track "Straight Outta Southside" but from there the album goes downhill. I'm glad I got listening to it out of the way...

here are the tracks I actually kept on my itunes(deleted the songs I didn't like)...

I enjoy it somewhat. Beg For Mercy was my ISH though. This one doesn't contain the songs with the same caliber as the ones on Beg for Mercy. I can still put that album in from time to time.

It's OK. I'll see if I'm still listening to it in a few months. 50 should just withdraw from the game and claim victory. His name will be remembered.

I feel bad for the people who copped this ish today. Tech N9ne's CD is 10x better and has tons more tracks on it for not that much more.

I'm pretty sure most of us in here know who 50 is talking about. Although I am kinda suprised at this though.
