    ATI or NVIDIA graphics cards?

Bottom line..... which do you prefer/like/had great success with.....

I've typically used ATI, but their drivers and uninstallation are whacko. I've primarily used AMD processors and since ATI and AMD are married.... I've not gone over to NVIDIA..... yet.

P.S. Does anyone understand the difference between Sapphire ATI vs. HIS ATI vs. any other version?

I've always used NVIDIA. I have a GeForce6150 LE on my computer now and it works great. Never used AVI. I also have an AMD Processor.

I've got an nvidia geforce 8800gts. I'd say NVIDIA is the way to go right now.

I use Nvida too. I have a Nivia quadro fx 3500. I would reccomend Nvida as well.

            GeForce 8800 ftw.

Last ATI card I had was a Radeon 9250. Most people that I know who game on the PC use NVidia cards, I don't think you can go wrong with either, though.

ATI just released some cards that got some pretty good reviews.

I bought an NVIDIA 8800 GTS(~$200) a month ago and have been really pleased.

I have a Nvidia 8800GT on this computer and a ATI 1600 on my other. I am always having to reseed the ATI, and now the drivers are messing up

i normally use ATI. don't have any problems with Nvidia though. right now i have a x1950XTX. it has been able to run any game i have at highest setting, so i don't see a need to upgrade yet.

Re: ATI or NVIDIA graphics cards?

I prefer Nvidia over ATI...I started out with ATI and had too many issues (drivers whacking out, in-game issues) so I've been with Nvidia since.

I'm running an AMD (64 x2 3800+/939) with my backup card, Geforce 6800GS, and haven't had any issues come up.

I was hard core ATI back in the day but the last 6-7 years have been straight up Nvidia. 8800gt right now.

No contest today. ATI 4870 or 4850.

3+ months ago, NVIDIA all the way.

ATI puts out a reference design for a card and the actual card makers/sellers sometimes tweak the design some (or sometimes not) and slap their name on it. Sometimes they overclock the card or change the heatsink/fan, or use better/worse quality parts, or whatever. So the cards are all usually very similar but might differ here or there in a few areas like ability to overclock, cooling, or gpu/memory speed out of the box.
