    Animated Series: "Spectacular Spider-Man"

I know there's a few Super Hero cartoon fans in here. We've had some great threads and posts about Batman: The Animated Series, Superman, Spider-Man, Batman Beyond, and more.

If you're a fan then I'm sure you've already checked out Spectacular Spider-Man on Kids WB. It is an amazingly well-written show. It might even rival the hit shows mentioned above. The story is rich, the arcs are handled extremely well, and the series producer is a true Marvel/Spider-Man fan.

The following link will take you to a reall informative and interesting interview with the series producer of the show.

They have some really exciting things planned for Season Two. The only issue is that Spider-Man doesn't have a network carrier. Kids WB is now defunct so Spider-Man is looking for a new home but the entire second season has already been written and recorded. And thanks to great ratings, the creative team behind the series isn't worried that some network will want to carry it.

There are even plans to go straight-to-DVD when Peter Parker goes to college and the storyline becomes much more mature.

If you haven't seen this show and you enjoyed any of the shows from the 90's, or you're just a huge comic fan, then this one is a winner and needs to be watched. I'm not sure if Kids WB will still show old episodes through the summer but give it a check.

The ones on saturday morning are very good I just never set my mind to watching them.

Everyone is gonna disagree with me but I always liked the old spiderman cartoons better, the one with Firestar and Iceman. However these are much more modern in terms of how they handle the story.

I heard about it but for some reason I thought that it wasn't out yet. I'm downloading some episodes now.

              Re: Animated Series: "Spectacular Spider-Man"

It's tough to catch these shows on Saturdays.

I'm usually an early bird so I wake up early on Saturdays no matter what. The issue is if I have a baseball game or if I stayed with my girlfriend. She doesn't have tv so I end up missing the show.

I think I've 11 of the 13 episodes. I'm hoping these come out on DVD so I can rewatch the entire first season. The way things are going it looks like I'll have time. They don't expect the series to go back on air until at least January 2009.

Aah Aah Aah Aaaaaah Aaaaaaaah, Aah Aah Aah Ah Ah Ahaaaaaa, Spectacular, Spectacular, Spider-Man! Spectacular, Spectacular, Spider-Man! Spectaculaaaaaarrrrr!

The theme song has me hooked, ha.

Let the video finish (the intro to Venom) and just wait a few seconds and the theme song kicks in.

but what i do recommend for any fan of spiderman is to go to hulu.com and watch their version. Watch the entire season because its very very good and you will only be disappointed that there aren't more when you finish it. I promise.

Their version? What's different about the two? Are they two totally different shows here? I remember hearign about about SSM but didn't know it had been released already. Besides that I don't think my kids ave ever watched a Saturday morning cartoon on network tv.

Edit: Just took a quick look. This is the one from MTV a couple of years back isn't it? If so, I have seen most of those.

I've been watching it since it premiered, a very good show. Its the best show on the WB at this point, and that included all their other crap that's not just on Saturday mornings.

I had no clue they're planning to continue the series to the point where hes in college. But the thing is, the way they've already done it, its going to be hard to keep his villains interesting for that long. Yet Spiderman back on fox's Saturday morning cartoons ran a very long time and was satisfying.

The last episode i saw was when he got the black suit and chased down the chameleon I sadly didn't see the episode where all the villains got together to go against him.

Did you read the interview? Also Spider-Man is over 500 issues in the Marvel Universe. And that's just Amazing Spider-Man.

As the series producer put it, they'll always have stories. It's just about which ones they want to choose. There are many, many villians that haven't been introduced yet. It seems like they threw everything at us because they've pretty much introduced us to the most popular of Spider-Man's villians but there are more. And there are many sagas that include many of the characters that have already been introduced and don't have much importance right now.

Also, you need to find a way to catch the Season Finale with Venom. It's a good one.

This is nuts. I'm looking at these images and it kinda angers me. If I had known that this sort of art would have been acceptable in Marvel I would have continued drawing. I only stopped because I never felt I was talented enough because I couldn't draw the typical comic book hero. But I can draw these characters.
