Eighty minutes?!

That's not good... makes me think I've already seen the entire movie through the previews. I was hoping for at least 100 minutes on this one.

IMDB shows its 92 minutes, which is still short. I might wait till other people here see it. I'll go probably go watch Wall E next.

Nah it won't be full price but that's cool... if it entertains me for an hour its fine by me. I have a swimming pool party to be at that day anyhow : )

Just got back, I liked it but I really wished that they would've explained Hancock's origin's more. Hopefully there's a sequel.

Hancock

Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Smith, Bateman & Theron were fantastic. & I loved the fresh take on the super hero genre. Some of it was a little confusing. But I thought it was just as good as Iron Man, if not better.

Nah, it's longer than that. It's definitely about an hour and a half. And really, you don't want it going longer than that.

Not saying the movie was bad. I enjoyed it. I thought it was a fun movie and also emotionally driven.

You know, it's hard for movies of this nature to really make an audience feel for the character the way they did here. And what I enjoyed about it is that they didn't try to force the emotionally driven moments on you. It was like, "Here, this is supposed to be a sad moment. See? Oh, ok, you're tired of that? Ok, more laughter coming your way."

It's not tacky either. It's done in a smart way. The movie never seems to hammer away at one genre for too long. It's always throwing drama, comedy, and action at you at different intervals and for a reasonable amount of time.

I wasn't sure if there was a way that anyone could really care about John Hancock. But, the writing is very natural and the acting is not over done and it allows you to just listen to the story and take in the moments. Because of that, you almost have no choice but to listen when Will Smith makes Hancock a lovable character for the first time in the film.

For those that watched the film, I think the moment he was dragging that car into the driveway, the conversation that followed, to me, that was the point in which the audience thought, "Wow, this guy really does care and there's more to him that I absolutely want to know."

The movie doesn't drag though it does take a little turn half way in. I would say that 50 minutes into the film I thought it was going to end. It could have. It had told it's story. But there was more and the first trailers (I never watched the most recent ones so I don't know if most of this has already been ruined) don't show you how the world around Hancock changes.

It's starts off as a story about a super hero looking to change his image and it becomes a story about a super hero trying to understand his origin. Both are done very well. I just didn't expect the second half. I consider it extra material.

Oh, and Charlize Theron is still hot. I never want to hear anyone suggest otherwise.

edit: This is no spoiler because everyone should expect this but the way this movie ends you can almost guarentee there will be a sequel.
