His "deep" stuff is an ignorant, uneducated high school drop out who has read a few books and thinks he's some genius trying to educate people, when in reality, he's just an ignorant drop out who has read a few books. He's basically the political rapper equivalent of the 13 year old internet posters who just realized that they don't have to believe in God, so they spout off the rhetoric that they took from some internet page. It's nice that he's trying, but let's not make him out to be something he's not.
I never said it was deep bro. If you go back, I actually said my initial love for the album was waning because I think he was trying a bit too hard to drop knowledge. Not that nothing he said was new to me, but most of it was a very watered down Immortal Technique like I originally stated at the very beginning of the thread.

With all of that said, my reasoning is the only thing I could come up with for someone to call it garbage. People go on and on and on about the beats, but lyrically he was on point and his flow was as sharp as ever.

To each his own is cool with me. You calling it garbage is a bit much in my eyes.

It's likely not worth it's own thread, but I think Blood Law's "My Life: The True Testimony" album is very solid and listenable. I came across it while searching for Nas' and was pleasantly surprised.

Ironically, I haven't acquired Nas' album yet, but will check it out shortly. I always liked how Nas covered real/gritty issues in his music, and perhaps had less fluff than some.

Speaking of Immortal Technique... I don't want to thread jack with this post, but ******* that 3rd World album with DJ Green Lantern is off the hook! A mindblowing joint. Best album that I've heard so far this year. Actually, that album is solely to blame on why I haven't enjoyed other albums that were recently released from Jean Grae with 9th Wonder, RZA, and Nas as much even though they're all good to me. The 3rd World has definitely spoiled me, but in a very good way.

We will probably be dead before this happens:

Not only does Nas want to record two albums - one with Dr. Dre and the other with DJ Premier - but he wants to release them both on the same day!

Sly Fox, despite using Fox in the title for a clever pun, isn't entirely about Fox, but the television news industry in general. He takes several shots at CNN, CBS, Viacom, and MSNBC.
