Re: Is Serena Williams a MAN?
With that said, I'm surprised this thread hasn't been closed yet. Race has been brought up numerous times and we all know how that goes on OS.Last edited by mjb2124; 07-06-2008, 11:18 AM.Comment

Re: Is Serena Williams a MAN?
Bingo. OS has always been this way. Opinions on women aren't allowed because some guys get upset and freak out out that a woman they think is attractive is deemed thick or fat by someone else. Who cares what anyone else thinks? Maybe it's a low self-esteem thing with some people that they need others to feel the same way they do. I don't know, but we all have different tastes. I sure wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I don't see how that response makes sense besides, "getting back" but ok. I already broke down why it CAN be viewed as a cultural thing. But for some reason you are still stuck on that and are clearly salty about it for some reason. I could see if I put you down or something but I just said it is a cultural thing. GO figure.
Just funny that anytime someone has something negative to say about another perso's taste/opinion it MUST be a self esteem issueConcrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

Re: Is Serena Williams a MAN?
Is it not obvious?
I've been around OS a long time in many different roles. Some people can't accept a different opinion from others....especially with women. Of course it happens in all walks of life and in many cases it's because the other person needs the reassurance that someone else feels the same way about something as them (ie: lack of self-esteem). If a person is secure enough in themselves, they shouldn't care what someone else thinks of a woman, a game, a movie etc... This isn't to say that things shouldn't or can't be discussed, but that people shouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks if their opinion differs - just be happy with what makes you happy - that's all that matters IMO. Now, I'm not saying this is the way it ALWAYS is, but I think it's that way in a lot of instances.
IMO, it's not a cultural thing in all instances either... It's different strokes for different folks. None of us are the same (Thank God) and that's what makes life great. I think bringing up the culture/race stuff again is only going to get this thread locked though.Last edited by mjb2124; 07-06-2008, 12:33 PM.Comment

And I'd say Mjb explained himself well enough, and the self-esteem point, that I don't have to add my own comments on why it is probably a self-esteem thing.Last edited by Beantown; 07-06-2008, 12:19 PM.Comment

Re: Is Serena Williams a MAN?
I'm sorry man I don't want any trouble
But why are you all dismissing the idea that it is a cultural thing as if black and non-black men BOTH are raised to like and accept different types of women (physically)? This is not something that I personally made up man.
Of course ALL black men don't like "curvy" women
Of course ALL non black men don't like "non-curvy" womenLast edited by DC; 07-06-2008, 12:34 PM.Concrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

Re: Is Serena Williams a MAN?
DC, I'm sorry you had to get off on me for my post. I'm not judging women. We are talking about female tennis players. The mentioning of me being tennis instructor is that I've seen plenty of female tennis players in my life and have also seen players that trained at Dennis Van Der Meer's and Stan Smith's tennis academy down in Hilton Head, SC that have turned pro. So yes, I have seen alot of beautiful girls / women that are way better looking than the bloated Serena Williams. Peace my friend.CLICK ME==> NY Jets Dynasty

Your logic isn't making sense, man, bold text notwithstanding. Tennis coaches judge tennis players. This is a conversation about women's attractiveness. The fact that they are tennis players is irrelevant, as is expertise in tennis.Comment

Tony Parker made the 50 most beautiful people list in People Magazine. Does Greg Poppovich have to be on that committee now?

I believe all hes saying is that from all the female tennis players hes seen, which is obviously more than most of us being that hes a tennis coach, shes one of the less attractive ones....nothing wrong w\ that..
now if hes saying that makes him an expert (which I didnt catch) , thats laughable and yes, terrible logic lol.Last edited by The 24th Letter; 07-06-2008, 09:17 PM.Comment

lol I think youve reached your limit for the word "irrelevant" this year already bro...

I'll start switching out "irrlevant" for "inapplicable" and "impertinent", since I have an editor on these boards.
And that was the point he was making, and the point that DC was debating. The topic is "is Serena Williams a MAN?", not is she a male tennis player. This topic has nothing to do with tennis specifically. And by the by, if we are only comparing the Williams sisters to tennis players, there is a whole history of ugly in the sport that grades them on a curve. Lastly, I'd question how many professional female tennis players this guy has instructed, because a pretty girl picking up a tennis racket for a year does not a tennis player make.Comment
