What is your opinion on Cole's song? Do you think this was a better route than DMing her or texting/calling as I'm sure he could've gotten her number?
I think they were both in the wrong, but her tweeting was entirely based off of assumptions and what she "thought" those brothers were or weren't doing.

He addressed it in the usual manner that he does or most musicians would. These issues haven't been our reality just right now, but our entire time in this country, so why hold him to responding back because of the climate?

Also, the song was mediocre and not as well thought out as something like "Lost Prophets." He definitely should have handled it by phone, but they both chose otherwise.

Her tweet was just about whether they were tweeting, not really any assumptions to be made. The irony is she deleted it, so she may have realized it didn't get her intent across and tried to get rid of it, but you know the internet. We need the King back, Wet Dreamz was the true end of Cole for me anyway.

Wale and Skyzoo both put out good EP's, need to listen to Meyhem Lauren. More protest singles, the ones from H.E.R. and Anderson .Paak stand out so far.

Best Part was the jam before Daniel Caesar told people to cancel him [emoji23]. One of her biggest songs is with Cordae.

New EP from 6lack - 6pc HOT EP
            spotify:album:0a8JlEkzJxSKYoiJyzDm3R

I went on a bit of a MF Doom kick this weekend/week and ended up on the Gorillaz Demon Days. Somehow it started with the new Noname song and Madlib's production and I just went straight to Madvillainy. So damn smooth - especially the last 3 tracks with the strong AF finish. Then of course I dropped back to MF's solo material. A little bit hit and miss, but if nothing else he provides some nice beats to rap over for the so-inclined. Mmm...Food has always been just slightly above Operation Doomsday to me, but both are still good. OD probably has the better production now that I think about it. Its crazy how much material he put out in such a short time span.

Still, the jewel of the crown is Madvillainy and listened to it several times this past week. The businessman villain motif and narrative really stuck out to me for various reasons. Namely because of POTUS. So 15 years later it's still fascinating me.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

I like the 6lack EP but need to listen to it a few more times to figure out what my favorites are. ATL Freestyle and Elephant in the Room are top after my first couple listens. New Drake leak came out like 3 days ago and is already about to be in my top 25 played songs of the year. "Never had a lot this is all I need, people never care til its RIP", speaking to the times unintentionally.

Bars stuck in my head from mostly unexpected sources:

From a Blueface song I would've never listened to if Polo G wasn't on it, Polo wasting mad bars on this guy: "Foenem got the jakes hot in the hood again, my lil shortie done tied up his hood again, let him pick out his pipe and he took the SIG, say he want something new in his 'wood again, leave a ***** somewhere that he shouldn't have been" and then a minute later "We gon' lose it if one of our brothers touched, so you don't want a problem with none of us, he gon' lay on the ground like "why me?", Cause this 40 gon' rock him like Kyrie" is nuts.

In another sports reference and hoping I'm not the only one who's girl has forced them to listen to City Girls, Yung Miami got off "Patek the wrist I'm such a boss bitch, multiple Berkins like they don't cost ****, suckin' him dead he in a coffin, ***** tsunami Miami dolphin" and needless to say football season is canceled.

That’s a Jadakiss slaughter for me but I’ve never really been big on Fab’s music.

I think it’s gonna be a good one. Really just depends on the direction they go in. I can’t wait. I’ve honestly only watched 1 Verzuz battle straight through and that was Jill vs Erykah because they’re both AMAZING and Jill has been my WCW forever. Lol Jada vs Fab will be the second.

So over the weekend I was talking to some folks about these Verzuz battles and though we didn’t delve into it, two names came up and I think it might be Epic.

What if 3000 and Cee-lo did a Verzuz? It’s all dungeon family so no malice there. Just good clean fun...

I think if 3000 showed up on camera and played nonsense flute melodies for an hour he would win, the star power is just so unequal in that matchup, it’s a god vs a mortal. The JBP guys were talking about Ross vs 50. Having came up after 50’s mixtapes and the only album of his I’d really stand by is Get Rich, Ross’s longevity would take that for me.

I doubt I’d tune in for Ross vs 50. Lol On Saturday’s pod they were talking about T.I. vs Ross. That might be ok. Ross vs. Jeezy maybe but they felt like Ross would take it because Jeezy has more of a cult following which I totally understand.

I don't know who you would pair against 3000 to make it seem even or fair. Cee-Lo is fun and certainly similar considering their versatility, but still no contest.
