Wacka Flacka gets radio play and I be damn if I let him be consider as hip hop while someone like MF Doom gets put in a sub category that doesnt even exist...

Cant really argue with your opinion of a definition of a word thats not even in the dictionary...

This is what I came up with from the interwebs:

Jukeman, my point is basically that.....all you have to do to get some attention in todays hip hop scene is look like a modern day hipster (tight clothes, maybe even glasses, sound like you might be slightly educated, give off a "somewhat nerdy but cool" vibe) and people will be like "yea! this guy is awesome!" because hey, thats the trend, the cool thing to do...is to like "hipster" rap

barnacle, hope you didn't take offense to that. I saw some of his videos posted on 2dopeboyz the other day and said the same thing. I think he's ridiculously average at rapping and only sounds decent because he's been in professional studio. Only reason he's gotten any attention is purely because of politics and that just really irks me when there are people with unique talent out there that will never be given a chance. No offense to Mac Miller either, but he is simply not good enough for me to justify giving him any listens. Voice kind of weak, flow not impressive, hooks not there, lyrically redundant....you gotta be either 1) GREAT at some part of rap or 2) Well above average at ever facet of rap if you want to get my attention. Mac M is just average across the board so I'll pass

I dont think anyone hyped him up, Wiz is hardly a big feature (especially since they both from Pitt) and at his professional vid...

Mac is ok and def better than most crap on the radio...

whether you agree to how some of these dudes look or not, you cant hate on these guys lookin the way they do....Its always been apart of the culture...Reason why I dont get the bashing of the New Boys and their skinny jeans...I wont wear it, but imma let them do them without judging or calling them "un hip hop"

Also its called being a poser...Playing dress up doesnt make u "hip"

at the end of the day, whats the dif between overly baggy clothes of the 90's to fitted clothes now?

A random guy wearing some baggy jeans, jersey, timberlands and a new era made people think that he was a hot rapper???
