FIRE. I'll still go out and buy it on Tuesday to support the man, really feelin' the album so far. Although the Family Reunion remix is blahh. Exxxes is really good. Pray For Me is another great track. A lot of good ones, definitely listening all night. Back with more later. But so far lyrically this is real good.

Little late on this thread, but i am 32, so the rap i like is from the 90's. I am also west coast, so i like that C-Bo, Brotha Lynch Hung, GLP, Old Master P, when he used to rap out of Richmond,Ca, Mac Dre, E-40. Stuffs like that.

After a few more listens, Exxes and Pray For Me still stand out the most. Incredible tracks. Work of arts. After you listen to Exxes you realize the whole track is a metaphor. I think he's still talking about his depression and what not. Pray For Me is probably one of the better tracks "talking" to God. Really the whole album is good. Only a two songs that I'll listen to sparingly. That would be The Future and Happy Hollidays. Their good tracks but not my cup of tea.

I LOVE Pray For Me. It's so deep, I love how he just vents and just lays into God exactly how he feels, especially his last verse before God answers him. Then of course God gets the last word.

But overall this album is great. After the first listen I didn't think it was better than Halfway House but I know it'll definitely grow on me.

Exxes and Pray for me are CLASSIC Budden tracks. Probably top 10-15 Budden material. I wasnt really feeling the album from the get go as a total package though. I think there are like 4-5 DOPE tracks and them some filler. I've gotta give it some more listens though, Im a terrible judge of music after my first listenthrough. Some of my favorite albums of all-time I didnt like the first time I listened.

Another dope track is the one where he is talking about some rapper's (maybe Memphis Bleeks?) wife and how he got down with her. I cant remember the name off the top of my head.. "I couldn't stop it" or something like that?

My favorites are Now I Lay, Adrenaline, Angel In My Life, and Pray For Me. The album is a classic though.

The imagery in In My Sleep is amazing. Every time I listen to the song I just let my mind go and try to imagine what's going on. Can't wait till I see the vid.

MC Eiht is probably my favorite rapper from that era. My love of hip-hop stems from 90's west coast. As a genre, perhaps not my favorite, but you can't deny the quality stuff.

Back to Padded Room. Didn't think I'd throw around the word classic, but it kind of is for me. Personally, I love every song, In My Sleep has grown on me. Adrenaline, Exxxes, Don't Make Me, Pray For Me, Angel In My Life are my off the top favorites. Oh, and Now I Lay - way to start off an album.

BTW if you pick it up in the stores next week, its 13 tracks, The Family Reunion remix isn't on it. The Amalgam digital release should have two other bonus tracks.

According to Joe, the vid won't explain the song.

Something interesting was discovered in relation to In My Sleep and Exxxes, and Joe has confirmed it to be true.

i noticed something crazy today. peep this. In my sleep comes right before exxxes on the tracklist. in in my sleep joe says..
"ye i thought about smashin dat
                          *** was phat,so appealing
                          tattoo on her thigh sayin
she doin better then she was feelin
i think i seen shawty before maybe in a club or somethin
maybe in vip, but wasnt nobody there but me
and the club was all red, then she started playin wit my head
then i came, then i asked shawty wats her name
it was wierd cause she ****ed around and disapeared"

then on exxes it starts off with him sayin
"you look familiar, i swear i seen u somewhere before, u sure?
are you sure we never met
nah im not usin that for a cheap pikup line, i really think u look familiar"

its the same girl from in my sleep. since the girl in exxes is all in his head, so is the girl from in my sleep where its all in his head.

i think thats brilliant, i aint reachin. exxes comes on right after in my sleep

Insane. Kind of gets me wondering about Exxxes, although I still believe it is about his depression, and he just mentions it in, In My Sleep as well. Good stuff from Joey though.

Dr. Dre first song from Detox has been leaked but it is NOT a official single from my understanding called "Topless" with Nas and TI check it out on youtube. Youtube has been yankin em off for copyright issues so this may only work for a few.
