Maybe I'll have to run through it again, but The Monster, Love Game, Headlights, and ******* off jump is all mainstream trash. Those records aren't old Em in any regard.

I'm a little surprised one would find this odd for Eminem...lol

It's funny, to me tracks like "The Monster" don't really sound all that different from something he would've dropped a couple albums ago...but because it's Rihanna on the hook it's looked at totally different...

Reminds me of the MC Get Bizzy line from Marshall Mathers...

Personally, I don't expect or really want the old Em back....at 41, you should have evolved beyond ****** your mom on records...that's works both ways, because he can sound dated at times,...but overall, I am still enjoying the album and it continues to grow on me...

MMLP2 was solid for a first run through, will probably grow on me more.

I don't find it odd, But earlier in his career he did those types of things less. He has done it way more since the first MMLP. That's kind of the reason why I'm not a fan of his later albums

I've got Bronson over here rhyming crazy over 80s samples and pop tracks so I wasn't checking for Eminem at all. Didn't even know it actually dropped/leaked. Not sure I even want to. Haven't liked Em in years

Lmao, was Recovery your first Eminem album? Nothing on this new album is like the old Eminem.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Crooked I is always beast can't wait for whatever album that song is on to drop.

Really liking MMLP2. The actual beats and production isn't as hard hitting to me as earlier albums like MMLP or Eminem Show or even Relapse. I don't know what it is but to me there just aren't enough beats like Till I Collapse or Remember Me.

Lyrically though I really do like the album. I like the songs and subject matter he chose for this album addressed a lot of things I was interested hear about.

Songs like *******, Bad Guy, So Far... Headlights just good songs to me. I like that he's actually acknowledging his past and being somewhat introspective. I don't get to hear this kind of "honesty" (can't think of the right word here) in a lot of mainstream artists. Maybe its there with Drake but I don't really listen to him like that.

I'm happy with the release for sure I'll gladly drop some dollars for this one. And the bonus tracks are great too. Ken Kaniff at the end of Wicked Ways had me laughing.

Legacy is my favorite song off MMLP2 so far. I think it's a really good album and exceeded my expectations

NY radio needs to get behind him. Stop promoting east coast artists over trap beats.

Listening to this Blue Chips 2 at work and it's like Krispy Kreme Donuts to my ears.

Haven't had a chance to check out Em's new album so I'll probably do that later since I've been hearing mixed reviews about it as well.
