Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Three out of Game's four [current] studio albums have been number one albums, with the exception of LAX, at number two. Dude is 32 years old, about to be 33 in ten days. I am nowhere near being the ultimate fan of him, The R.E.D. Album has been the only album that I have really given the most listens to.

It just really bothers me when someone has to bring up how many features he has on his album, and how he needs to hold his own weight. From a quick eyeball, most of his albums seem to be "feature heavy" as people like to say, so if anything, this is not out of the norm, for Game.

Did people really buy his albums just for the features? That is the vibe I am getting, wow.

I brought it up because it is a sign that I've noticed tends to point to an artist who doesn't have that much to talk about and needs other people to help extend the running time of their songs. There's nothing wrong with having features but when all but one of your songs has someone else on it (and not just a singer doing a hook) with half of those songs featuring 2 or more people, something looks off. I haven't listened to anything he has done since his Aftermath album so I have no idea how many features he has on his other albums but this most recent one has a ridiculous amount of people on it.

Too many women in this video to be a Chief Keef parody. Completely unrealistic.

Looking forward to the Soul Tape 2 on 10/22. This is Fab's 1st mixtape of this year(since TiNC 3 on Christmas). If you think about it, I dont think he put out a solo song this year. I am hoping he did the same thing he did with ST1. I recently DLed it and it is still good. That tape has 6-8 songs that can be on rotation. For most tapes, there is only 1-4 tracks that can be on rotation for me. So, if Soul Tape 2 can have 4-6+ rotational songs, than I would be satisfied.

A Loose Quarter will be the 1st Joe Budden tape I EVER DLed. Heck, I think On the House was the 1st tape I DLed with him. I dont know where to have my expectations at, but I am at a 6.5/10. I did like the 'Momma Said' track

Very rare: Keke, The Adopted Cat lays down a legendary verse, becoming the first non-human hip-hop artist in Earth's history:

This is how a Game album usually sounds and this is coming a fan of his:

-Game and Young Jeezy on a track together: Game sounds exactly like Jeezy
-Game and Nas on a track together: Game sounds exactly like Nas
-Game and RAWSE on a track together: Game sounds exactly like RAWSE
-Game and Drake on a track together: Game sounds exactly like Drake

I'm sure you notice the pattern here and it's apparent on every one of his albums. Which ever artist The Game is doing a track with, he'll most likely sound like that particular artist.
