Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

^^ Hot97 been playing the **** out of this this morning (and throwing shade at Power 105); one of H97's DJs has a soundbite on the track.

I like the sound. Feels like some early 2000s NY stuff.

They got the story on how it was made last night from a Swiss Beats phone interview this morning. Trey Songz is on the track too. Hes the guy hitting the random high note in the song haha.

Hmm, so much for that Timbaland/Jay beef from the Blueprint III fallout.

Track is dope though. Good to hear some new Jay.

Only reason I clicked on that Jay-Z link is because I heard he mentioned Chief Keef.

Beat reminds me of the "People Talking" instrumental that he did around that same time frame you mentioned.

              I mess with this though.

                        And for fellow Wu-Tang Fans:

The legendary nine-man collective Wu-Tang Clan have gone nearly six years without a true studio album. That appears to be changing this summer, as 8 Diagrams will no longer be the reported final album from the Staten Island-Brooklyn-and Bronx, New York representatives. The eight living members of the Wu are said to be releasing A Better Tomorrow in July. The effort comes 20 years after the classic debut album, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), released on Loud/RCA Records.
HipHopNMore reported that a U.K. press release coinciding with overseas dates confirmed the title and anticipated release season.
Next wee, Ghostface Killah of the Clan, will release Twelve Reasons To Die, with producer Adrian Younge. The Soul Temple Records release is executive produced by RZA.

Love the sound of both Pusha and Jay's tracks. Maybe it's just me but it seems like there's starting to be a movement this year to bring things back to a simpler, just straight rap style.
