Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer Issue

Firefox 3 first. I can't stream any audio with this and even when it asks for the plugin, it won't work. I also can't watch any video on MLB.com. I had this problem out of nowhere on the old Firefox as well starting about 3 months ago. Everthing was fine...and now this. I've re-installed Firefox several times with no change in the outcome.

Internet Explorer. Suddenly IE is running with no add-ons and I never changed it, and it won't go back to the how it normally ran. I tried to manually change it back, tried restarting it, and also re-installed IE with nothing. When I try to listen to streaming audio I get a red X. I also can't watch videos on MLB.com either.

My laptop is a few years old and it might be dying so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it but I have no idea what to do here. I'm at a loss here because I never had any problems until now. My warranty is out of date with Dell so I can't call them to see how to fix it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Reinstalling Firefox won't do any good if the problem is profile-related, which is where problems typically occur.

I'm having the same problems with Internet Explorer, the wierd thing is I noticed the problem after I installed Firefox 3, maybe its related.
