Looking At Buying Some DJ Turntables

    http://www.amazon.com/Numark-Package...5672682&sr=8-4

This is the set I was looking at. I want to be able to scratch and beat juggle so that I might be able to actually start performing in some kind of live show. Any help is appreciated!

I would say this is good enough to practice with, for now, but not sure about a live show. I noticed that with these "DJ-In-A-Box" after constant use, the cross-fader on the mixer will begin to bleed and will require that you purchase a replacement cross-fader. and the arm likes to jump a lot if you like to scratch (sometimes buying a better quality needle will help avoid this), you can adjust the weight on the arm but sometime it still doesn’t help. Like I said, this will be a good starting point, but try to find some direct drive turntables if you can. They will be better at what you want to do, especially at Skratching and Juggling, the belt drive tends to stop when you apply regular pressure to the record with your hand where direct drive doesn’t. Hope this helps.

    Peace!

Man....I tried to get you to look at the tables I was selling a while back, I sold them on Craigslist finally though.

But honestly, do NOT get that set. Those are belt-drive turntables that you can't scratch with. I promise you that. I don't think you could beat juggle either. Those are for listening purposes only really.

It's tough to DJ on the cheap....the main advice I give you is to buy used. Go to Guitar Center or Sam Ash on Capital Blvd and play around with their stuff and see what you like.

I started out with a set of Numark TT200s which are very good for beginners because they are powerful and you can scratch and do whatever you want with them. They are $200 each....plus a mixer you can for about $100 if you are buying new stuff. The Numark TT200s come with needles that are passable but not great if you want to be doing live shows down the line.

I sold 2 Numark TT200s and a mixer with all the cables for about $350......that is the type of deal you want to look for. You'll have to be patient to find a deal like this but it's really the only way to get decent stuff without spending an *** load of money.

Stanton T.60 or T.80 would be another table to look at. Or some Technics if you can get them for $200 each or so used but those may be tougher to find in the area.

I'm not sure what else to tell you but if you have questions fire away.
