Hopefully their powers are back by the time this eclipse is over - but that episode really answered no questions in the bigger "Heroes vs Villains" saga.

May not have answered any questions, but it certainly advanced the "Heroes Vs Villains" saga:

-HRG and Sylar
-Claire's situation
-Parkman/Daphne
-Nathan's capture

All of which have a(n) (big) impact on the overall "Heroes Vs Villains" saga in one way or another.

Maybe it's just me, and maybe this is the main reason why I am still enjoying this season, why I still enjoy 24, while I never lost faith in LOST, etc....but I don't need questions answered every single episode. I don't need new, unique amazing storyline ideas. I just need to be entertained. So, the storyline may not have advanced in leaps in bounds and we may not have found the answers to any of the questions the audience may have had...but that doesn't matter to me. I watch television shows to be entertained, not to have questions answered, not to find the meaning of life, blah blah blah. I just watch because it is an hour of my life that I spend being entertained by a completely fictional, mostly unrealistic story. Not directing this at you, of course, just at TV audience's in general. [/endrant]

Ditto. I just enjoy the ride. I'm content in the fact that it won't be better than season 1 and can't be worse than season 2.

Now that was an entertaining episode of Heroes.

Poor Elle. The only blonde on the show worth watching is now gone. Oh well...deaths of key characters is what Heroes has missed the last two seasons.

And thank god Kring's comments of them losing their powers for the rest of season 3 was a curveball.

Now that was an entertaining episode of Heroes.

Poor Elle. The only blonde on the show worth watching is now gone. Oh well...deaths of key characters is what Heroes has missed the last two seasons.

I'm just hoping Peter gets his back at some point.

The Haitian laying the smackdown was nice. Claire dying and coming back was way way too predictable. Much better episode than last week, especially with Maya getting a little air time.

I was a big fan of last night's episode. The HRG Vs Sylar storyline is one of the best on TV, imo.

I'll just say I don't agree with you and leave it at that.

The show has left a lot to be desired. Huge drop-off since the first season.

Loved it, didn't mind where they took it second season but I don't know if they have different writers or what but this third season has been hit or miss every ep., mostly misses.

Most of the show has about the same charismatic flair as Nicky's storyline at this point.

There's a chance Elle didn't die. Sylar stopped and looked tired. At least it looks like he stopped. I liked this episode but I hope we don't spend much time in the past 'cause of Hiro.

Also, when the heck is Peter gonna be cool again? I know this is an ensemble show but I think every Heroes fan can agree that all the cool/best storylines involve mostly Peter/the Petrelli Bros./Family, Sylar, HRG (at times, when he's not getting the shaft), and the big bad. They should be the focus a majority of the time. Most people treat them as the main guys anyway. Everyone else's stories should be concise and to the point rather than drag everything out and have an episode feel like it didn't progress much.

I've been on board for much of this season, I just don't see the point of these past two eclipse episodes. So the "heroes" lost their powers for a total of what, 6 or 7 hours? Was the point to show the viewers that they would all freak out with out their powers? No s***, so would I.

Maybe it taught Claire a morality issue. Slashing Sylar's throat was cool. But why go through the motions if you are just going to heal them?

Lazy writing.

What was the whole point to the Sylar/Elle/Mr. Petrelli subplot if the whole thing reverts back to where we started? Are they still trying to convince the audience that Sylar is easily manipulated and has no idea what he is doing? Did they just need an excuse to write Kristen Bell out of the show because she is too big of a star now?

At least in Season 1, the audience had no idea what was going on but the show was intriguing. In Season 3, it seems like the writers have no idea what is going on. Most of these episodes have been a complete waste of time. They establish something one episode, rescind it the next, then re-establish it...what is the point?

This is definitely part of the reason I stopped watching.

I know some people will watch it to enjoy it and they have the right. Again, anyone can enjoy it and if they do, I hope it continues to thrill you.

But, for me, the holes in the writing has just ruined this show for me. I guess I'm different. Shows like this, Lost, Fringe, for example, are shows I think are meant to be analyzed and broken down. Heroes has lacked in that area severely. And perhaps it's trying to just be a show to enjoy. If that's the case, cool, but I don't find this sort of series works if it's only meant to be enjoyable.

I've really enjoyed season 3. Nothing will top season 1 but it's a lot better than season 2 and very entertaining.

I think some of you guys are overanalyzing. I'm certainly guilty of that too but it's as though some of you guys are trying to race to the end of a puzzle that needs to be solved. Not every episode has to advance an overall story arch. Most shows have episodes that could be considered filler. I shudder what you guys would think of Smallville where they only advance the overall story in baby steps about every three episodes.

Furthermore, for those that want the show to be more cerebral or have a more intricate and huge story arch, I think you will be greatly disappointed. One of the reasons NBC got rid of those two writers is that they want the show to be simpler. If you talk to anyone who hasn't seen the show the biggest reason they don't bother to try is they find it too complicated. The show will get simpler, not more complex.

I do think Peter needs to get his powers back soon and I also think Elle is still alive. Either way, I'm sticking around and will enjoy watching the outcome.

It doesn't work that way.

A show's "die-hards" will stick with the show regardless. Heroes captured the average viewer in their first season because of an intriguing storyline, constant developments central to their characters and exciting action. Where has any of that been in Season 3? We've had only 2 or 3 good episodes this season, IMO, where they've done just that. As Ridge mentioned, the entire story seems convoluted and full of holes. The casual viewers have jumped ship because of Season 2 and 3 hasn't provided any reason to get back into it. There's a secretary here who loved Season 1, hated Season 2 and keeps asking about 3. Why would I tell her to get back into it when the writing is a mess? We hardly are revealed anything about the characters and then as soon as this amazing revelation happens it quickly gets retracted.

We went from one great, multi-character driven story to a huge mess. They've even failed bringing in new heroes (or "villains").

It's just one big mess of a show right now. Such a shame.
