have a laptop and it says don't throw in trash. What do I do with it then??

According to my Geology professor, we (America) have special disposal methods for electronic and hazardous materials.

Apparently we ship them to India, where we poison their water and kill/mutate their babies. Now think, is your disposal of the laptop worth an Indian child growing a third ear?

Do the responsible thing and just put it on the roof of your apartment building.

Best Buy now has a recycle program for old electronics, call up the store nearest you and see what you have to do. Im sure they gut it for parts but if you arent sure what to do with it they will take it.

nothing on it can be used as spare parts. Once it died, I killed it again. I tore it apart just seeing how it was built. But it says the lamps have mercury in them.

I had a laptop die, ripped the HDD out of it, and sold it on ebay for $225. I was shocked since I started the auction at a buck and expected maybe 10 or 20 bucks.

Wait until you change the oil in your car, then wash it down the gutter along with the oil....

Throw it in a nearby dumpster, preferably one that belongs to a school or other public place.

On second thought, throw it in the trash at a McDonalds drive-thru.
