Agreed. I have a laptop at home that I use downstairs. I leave it plugged in all the time. The only reason I have it is so I don't have to run upstairs to surf the web. I can sit back in my recliner and surf the web while watching TV.

Even at work the laptop I have is plugged in all the time. II take it home every night in case there is an emergency and I do travel to different offices occasionally so a laptop is necessary.

I don't think there is any problem with keeping it plugged in all the time. Batteries nowadays should be able to handle it.

That seems to be the world of electronics for ya. Which is fine with me as I'm hoping with this big digital switch over in TVland that pretty soon I'll be able to buy a flat screen for half the price of what they are now.

I'm sure that's what they were originally intended for but now that they are so affordable and you can do mostly everything you do on a desktop (except maybe be a gaming beast on it) it doesn't have the same effect anymore.

I, like most people I know, buy laptops because I don't like the bulkiness of a desktop.

I have three laptops at home and together they take up less space than my last desktop. Plus I can walk around with each of them.

I always had my Dell laptop battery always plugged up. After about 3 years, it would only last 8 minutes after being "fully" charged.

Luckily, I got a new laptop (and battery) before my 3 year warranty ran out. Now I unplug it at night and anytime I know i'm going to be gone for more than 2 hours.
