i got a virus for the first time in 6 years on my laptop. there's this annoying anti virus program that Im not sure how it got on my computer called Anti Virus xp 08. it won't allow me to remove it from my hdd. i purchased Kaspersky 7.0 but AV XP 08 seems to be conflicting with it. is AV xp a legit program or is it part of the virus to get me to order it...

antivirus xp 08 is malware that says you have a bunch of trojans/viruses and tries to get you to buy a license to get rid of it. You probably are getting a bunch of popups and stuff too.
All you have to do is download malwarebytes anti-malware and run the scan and it should get identify and get rid of antivirus xp 08.
If there is something that it wont let you delete, then reboot in safe mode and run the scan again.Comment
