Lakeview Terrace (starring Samuel L. Jackson)

"A young couple (Patrick Wilson and Kerry Washington) has just moved into their California dream home when they become the target of their next-door neighbor, who disapproves of their interracial relationship. A stern, single father, this tightly wound LAPD officer (Samuel L. Jackson) has appointed himself the watchdog of the neighborhood. His nightly foot patrols and overly watchful eyes bring comfort to some, but he becomes increasingly harassing to the newlyweds. These persistent intrusions into their lives causes the couple to fight back."

I don't know what to say. I mean, it's Samuel L. Jackson so that has to count for something.

It looks good. I like Samuel L. Jackson, but knowing that Kerry Washington is it in alone gets my price of admission at the theater.

If a mod sees this, can you fix the typo I made ("staring") in the title?

It really doesn't. Sam Jackson is making a run at Ben Affleck for a major star (at one point) being in the most horrible movies.

You could be right. I never saw the abomination that I hear Snakes on a Plane was. The last Samuel L. movie I watched was Shaft.

I like Samuel L. Jackson but you guys are right. He's been in a lot of bad movies. Way too many.

This one looks very frustrating. I have a hard time watching people in those situations. When you know that they are being wronged and an authority figure it taking advantage of their power. That same thing made me aggravated to watch Anger Management with Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson.

But, it looks interesting. I just hope there isn't some cheesy ending with all of them hugging at the end and being cool with it.

Despite how I feel about these type of movies, if the couple actually ended up being forced to move and Jackson's cop character wins at the end, I might be satisfied.

While it's not exactly the same thing, after reading the synopsis for Lakeview Terrace it reminded me an awful lot of the 1992 thriller Unlawful Entry.

Here's a plot summary of that movie from IMDB

After a break-in at their house, a couple gets help from one of the cops that answered their call. He helps them install the security system, and begins dropping by on short notice and unofficial patrol, and spends a lot of time discussing the couple's problems with the wife. The husband begins wondering if they're getting too much help.
As for Samuel L. Jackson, the guy has been in a lot of crappy movies but he still brings some life to what would otherwise be unwatchable dreck. BTW is it just me or does he look like Emmitt Smith in that poster?

This movie looks like it could be really bad. Definitely waiting for reviews before I see it.
