Evans Blue has parted ways with vocalist Kevin Matisyn due to “musical differences.”

I knew I shoulda sucked it up and tried to see them the two times they performed this past month. Oh well. They were one of my favorite bands, and I'll continue to love the old stuff, but I'll reserve judgment on what either side does from here on out

Ok, they didnt kick me out cuz of musical differences. They kicked me out cuz I'm a dick and I was acting like a dick. It's typical to say something ******** like that when you don't want to be straight up. It's a really LONG story and I don't want to go into it all but I basically said something along the lines that someone had to go and it was gonna be me or him (this is really complicated and probably not who you think), was this the right thing to do? not really, it was said out of anger and frustration and not right for me to do. Of course no one is gonna know the story behind it cuz everyone has their own and everything is skewed to make someone else look bad and I'm not interested in making anyone look bad. All i know is that I was unhappy with the dynamic, I was unhappy with how touring went in terms of respect for certain peoples desire to sleep normal hours. My former band and I lack respect for each other and all that did was create resentment and hate. My lack of respect is pretty upfront but that doesnt mean it's unwarranted. It's just an ugly way to do it I guess. We used to sell a "Matisyn is a dick" shirt, it's a non-fiction t-shirt

I dont really care if I look bad in the end cuz I did things to make my career happy, I think that's all anyone wants. What good is it to be in band that makes you miserable? I dont care if people post the crazy emails I sent complaining about basically everything. I have my reasons just like other have reasons they do what they do but to say they kicked me out over musical differences is nonsense. It just makes me look bad and makes it look like I chose my solo stuff over EB, which isnt true but whatev.

Plain & simple:
Evans Blue + Kevin Matisyn = albums sold
Evans Blue - Kevin Matisyn = albums sold (see Fuel)
Kevin Matisyn solo = albums sold to diehards who felt he was the only reason Evans Blue was good. The man way be too artistic for his own good and I think that will be his downfall
