I'm sure the haters will enjoy this one. Hopefully its entertaining at least.

By the way, am I the only one who thinks they don't look at all like who they are playing? Rice looked pretty darn close, but the rest I don't see it.

It's like Frank Capra territory on one hand, but I'll also cover the demons in his private life, his bouts with his dad and his conversion to Christianity, which explains a lot of where he is coming from. It includes his belief that God personally chose him to be president of the United States, and his coming into his own with the stunning, preemptive attack on Iraq. It will contain surprises for Bush supporters and his detractors." - Oliver Stone

ridiculous...more left-wing propaganda. i'm not a bush fan, but this is disrespectful to the president and the office itself.

where is the movie of clinton getting head under his desk? at least people might want to watch that...

I'm not sure I really get the point of the movie.

The first part of the trailer shows it being somewhat of a satirical biopic, but the second part where they name the people portrayed is just the office holders of the administration. I'm not incredibly knowledgeable about Bush, but i would bet that Rice, Powell, Chaney, Rumsfeld, Rove, and Blair probably weren't the main people in his life story. I'm sure he knew some, but I'd imagine most were political relationships more than anything else.

Whats the over/under on post count until this gets closed down? I get it isnt technically politically motivated, the thread that is, but its going to get someone to spout off and that will be the end of it.

im a history nut, so ill watch it (even if it might be an exaggerated and slanted version of history). Stone's movies about JFK and Nixon were both pretty entertaining imo

but it's kinda weird having a biopic about a man that is still in office

Well he won't be in office when it's released. I know nitpicking.

I dunno, from the trailer it looks like a pretty straightforward biopic. I'll need to see more before I can say it's biased and all that jazz.

BTW yeah, most of the actors don't look like their counterparts. Condi Rice looked very good and so did Rove but the others...not so much. Who the hell is that young kid playing Blair?!

Actually, he will be. The release date is October 17 of this year.

Ah my bad...That's pretty bad timing. If I was Stone i'd ask the studio to delay it til Bush is out of office.

                        Oh well....

I dont know but I would guess they probably want to get it out before the election. The timing of it coming out at election time makes me think it will be slanted...not that I care about it being slanted, personally (but im not really partisan either way). It could still be as entertaining as JFK and Nixon.

I wonder how they chose the cast.

The actor that weve seen in a million movies that is playing Herbert Walker Bush looks a lot like him. That was some good casting, but it doesnt seem he tried to get the voice impression down. Maybe they should dub him with Dana Carvey lol (and they can dub over the guy playing Cheney with James Earl Jones *rimshot*)

I love Brolin so I'm curious to see how this ends up. Oliver Stone has made some awesome films, 15 years ago, but still, they were awesome.
