Need Help!smoke coming from my tv......

I bought an Akai projection tv (PT5250) It began smoking from what the people at CONNS called the deflection board. They want to charge me from everything from the air the technician breathes to the amount of steps it takes him from exiting his appliance truck to fix this problem. I opened the television and can see one of the circuits begin to burn when the tv is turned on but I need to know what I'm up against before I go fooling around on the inside on my tv.

only 2 years old. I bought it for $1000.00. It was on sale.

you need to find out how much that deflection board costs first and go from there. I have no idea what one would cost but calling Akai might help.

Its a samsung part, looks like its backorder nationwide, you might be able to find one at a local shop. Probably is new tv time if you have the money, you would end up spending at least $200 for it and then getting it installed.

Its a samsung part, looks like its backorder nationwide, you might be able to find one at a local shop. Probably is new tv time if you have the money, you would end up spending at least $200 for it and then getting it installed.

Akai's are notorious for using recycled parts and breaking, and their customer service is so terrible it's practically non-existent. If I were you I would either purchase a new TV or find a local technician to take a look. Since you already know what the part is, he may be able to fix it semi-cheaply.

Thanks for your advice as well, dude. I just may have to buy another freakin' TV because the last guy who so called repaired my last tv had screwed me over. I will certainly avoid anything else in the near futre with those letters(AKAI)
