Top 20 LP's of all time

I think this guy did a good job compiling this list. Can't argue w/the albums that made it too much, though I was shoked @ #20.

Putting the starting point @ 10 mil sold puts a limit on that. People don't buy whole CD's as often. There are a number of critical masterpieces eliminated from contention. But I think this is a good, well-rounded attempt that takes in to account commercial & artistic success. He could probably add a "curve", so to speak, to take into account the different time periods. 3x's platimum today is probably equal to 10x's in '80. And the rarity of LP's from the 70's & earlier should be factored in when he counts resale.

Yep, the metric used definitely skewed it towards a certain time period.

I'm sorry but no list that has FAITH at #20 for top LPs of all time holds any credibility to me.

It doesn't seem like this is based on his opinion but a formula "ratings Value = Sales Value X Rating Multiplier."

            For whatever that's worth.

In it's time, "Faith" was a HUGE...I mean HUGE seller, that a lot of critics liked, so it's all about perspective.

I don't know if he's saying that's his 20th favorite album of all time.

Isn't that the album that had "I Want your sex"?

Yes, BTW I know it's based off of some formula but pssh...One song doesn't make an album to me.

OK, I'll admit I have the LP sitting in my basement right now.

Oh,I know that one song doesn't make an album. It's just the only song that I remember from that album.

I dont get it. 4 of the top Selling bands with the most gold records arent on there: Rush, Stones, Aeromsith and Kiss.

The title song Faith was awesome.

I wasn't a fan of George Michael. I just happened to remember "I want your sex" because that seemed like the only song my next door neighbor played when he got into his car.

Because gold is 9,500,000 sales short of diamond.

Though why anyone would choose grammy awards to count for anything is beyond me.

Faith, Father Figure, Monkey, Kissing a Fool, One More Try. Total of 6 Top 5 singles, 5 reached #1. I didn't remember it being critically acclaimed, but I did remember it having a number of hits.
