    This was one of the comments on that Gawker site:

    Just prior to the beaching, a local lifeguard was quoted as stating, "ROUS? I don't believe they exist--"

        Why didn't the people take multiple photos of this beast? A closeup of its face perhaps and limbs, photos from the side, etc. Also why has this thing mysteriously dissapeared from the beach it washed ashore on? You would think the people that found it would call and give the information as to where it is located and than news, media, etc, would flock in masses to see it. It is not walking anywhere and unless the tide brought it back in the water or someone carried it away, it should still be there. This whole thing sounds like bs.
