I don't know anything about him being sick.. he was in trouble for that joke at the Obama event like a month ago, so I'd assume that he's fairly okay if he was out performing that recently.

Comedian Bernie Mac's publicist said Monday the "King of Comedy" remains in a Chicago hospital where he is responding well to treatment for pneumonia.
Rumors had spread that Mac, 50, had died following a published report that he was in extremely critical condition.
"Bernie Mac is still alive and being treated in a Chicago hospital for pneumonia and is expected to make a full recovery," publicist Danica Smith said in an e-mail. "We once again ask that the press respect his privacy and that of his family."
Smith said Mac's illness is unrelated to his diagnosis of sarcoidosis, which has been in remission since 2005, she said. Mac, who lives in the Chicago area, has appeared in movies including "Ocean's 11" and "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle."NFL:Packers

I knew about the sarcoidosis. Isn't that why after the first season of the Bernie Mac Show, his face got real puffy and he looked and sounded weak?
