I don't believe there are any TV programs doing such a thing at this current time, but I'm sure they'll broadcast in 720p as well.

There is no 1080p broadcast signal at the moment.

If the game is 1080p, it will also support 720p so you are good.

            You'll be fine.

As someone pointed out there are no 1080P broadcasts. Blu Ray/HD DVD are the only formats
            with a 1080p source.

Your TV will down scale 1080i(some tv stations) and 1080p(Blu Ray/HD DVD) to 720p.

You most likely would need a 58+ tv to notice a slight difference between 1080p and 720p so don't sweat that aspect either.

I saw a commercial this week that Dish Network will be offering 1080p broadcasts soon for an extra $25 HD package deal.

If you want to call it that. Problem is it will be no where near 1080P quality. Dish is going to compress it to begin with, this won't be too bad by itself as it will degrade the quality, but probably not too bad. The problem is Dish also added a bunch of HD channels without getting more bandwidth, ie another satellite. Dish is now compressing their HD channels even more to fit them all in the bandwidth they have.

They are doing this to try to say they are first, but I bet that they will get killed by the HD experts for their compressed crap that comes out. You'll get a lot better experience going and renting the Blueray disc.

They only added extra channels after they dropped the Voom stations but still, i hate how they charge the way they do for the HD packages.

TurboHD is a marketing ploy. I read an article this week that said customer numbers are down. If you look at the fine print, the 1080p is for VOD. Any regular broadcasts will of course be in 720p/1080i.
