-- Soul singer and arranger Isaac Hayes, who won Grammy awards and an Oscar for the theme from the 1971 action film "Shaft," has died, sheriff's officials in Memphis, Tennessee, reported Sunday.

Relatives found Hayes, 65, unconscious in his home next to a still-running treadmill, said Steve Shular, a spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.

On Friday I JUST watched the episode of the Bernie Mac show that had Isaac Hayes on it when Bernie's daughter was making music. Now its Sunday and they BOTH are gone. That is crazy.

RIP to Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac.

I just saw this too. Apparently he was found dead on the floor near his treadmill. He was one of the great soul singers of his time and he made some damn fine music.

RIP Isaac Hayes.

I hope the guys at South Park retire the Chef character because I can't think of anyone else playing him.

I just saw this too. Apparently he was found dead on the floor near his treadmill. He was one of the great soul singers of his time and he made some damn fine music.

I hope the guys at South Park retire the Chef character because I can't think of anyone else playing him.

Chef was basically kicked off South Park in season 10 because Isaac Hayes didn't like how they made fun of Scientology. So in Season 10, Chef died.

He had such a smooth voice. Thanks for all the panty dropping songs in the 70's Isaac. What a ****ty weekend.

People die every day. Some times it non celebrity and some times it is famous people. That is life. Yeah that is sad and does feel like it does happen in 3's, I loved Chef. Was he still on South Park?
