Video games, as a form of entertainment are here to stay for the long haul. Its a huge industry. Consoles may not be here forever though as the natural progression of technology continues, there vary well may be no more "consoles" persay, perhaps in as little as 2-3 generations from now.

But interactive video games, much like movies and music are a huge staple of the entertainment sector now and are going nowhere.

Eventually you'll be able to talk to a little cardboard box and it will transform into anything you want, such as a futuristic video game console...IE PS435.

....Or a really hot woman. Either way what the future holds is terrific.

You guys should check out this futuristic Micheal Bay film called "The Island". In it, there is a scene where a man and woman are playing a fighting game where they are seperated by an electronic screen and they are able fight each other without inflicting any real pain of course. Its almost like they were in a virtual machine allowing them to punch and kick and some type of sensors followed there movements. Plus it was apparently an xbox game.

That was a horrible explaination. Just watch the damn movie. Its pretty good if you're into sci-fi.

Found a vid for it. Check 45 seconds into vid.

Anyways, if something like this can be done, say goodbye to consoles.
