    At the 2009 TV Critics Press Tour, Kevin Reilly told reporters that the series would end with the fourth season. Despite decreasing ratings, Reilly attributed the cancellation to creativity: "The show has just played out. You get to a point creatively where you feel all the stories have been told, and you want to end strong and not gimp out in the end of the season."<sup id="cite_ref-E-2009jan14_22-0" class="reference">[23]</sup> Kristin Dos Santos of E! has reported that there may be several extra episodes following the remaining six. Reilly has also confirmed that the series will end with a two-hour finale, rather than a rumored TV movie. Regarding the finale, Reilly says, "They have a really cool ending, actually. I know where they end, and it's a hell of an idea."

            The stories had all been told after Season 2.

                I think they realized that. I'd bet FOX pushed them to continue. Prison Break was once getting a 9 rating in households. It's dropped dramatically this season.

                I wonder how much better the series would have been if everyone knew it only be 3 seasons.

                    Anyone gonna finish this season now that its finally coming back? I keep seeing previews for next weeks 2 hour episode on Friday and I will for sure be checking it out but its been off the air for so damn long at this point that I can only vaguely remember what the hell happened before this long layoff.

                        Eventually. I likely won't be around to watch it on Friday. So, something has to convince me that it's worth it to watch it online.

                                I am going to watch this till the end in a few weeks, but this season has been so-so.

                                        I had no idea it even came back tonight. I had given up hope on the show returning. Haven't even watched the last 8 episodes, got bored with it this season.

                                                How was the episode? I saw that it was on - completely forgot about it - but by that time it was 9:05 and I think it was a two-hour event, right?

                                                    It was actually pretty good. Parts of it predictable... but overall, I still enjoyed it. I missed the series. I'll be watching for the rest of the season. Hopefully they'll send it off with a bang.

                                                        I was pleasantly surprised by Friday's episodes. They were much better than anything they have done to date this season. Looks to be shaping up to a pretty good ending to the series.

                                                            It was two episodes Friday night? Epguides.com says it was one, and so does the wiki. As does Fox.com, where I just watched it.
