Patents anyone?
I have a couple of things copyrighted, but I am creating an invention and I realized I couldn't copyright it like a name or logo. I was wondering if anyone have any experiences with attaining patents on their work or works. All info will be appreciated.Tags: None -

Re: Patents anyone?
document all of your work including ideas and research. You should keep a journal of this and date each entry.
I've never applied for a patent. I wanted to patent something I did in college but it would have belonged to the university so I never did. I haven't attempted to design anything for years now.IN RILEY WE TRUSTComment

Re: Patents anyone?
I filed and logged all the patent info at my University for 2 years in college, great job. As MassNole said, you will be better off getting a lawyer and letting them take care of it. Some much crap to go through and you need to file in ~20 countries to cover yourself.Comment

Not to mention having them do a patent search in some of those Eastern European countries to make sure this is really worth your while to pursue.Comment
