I have no plans to watch the film as I never cared for the Scream franchise like some do.

It's interesting to me because I hear people say the franchise is scary. I really thought it was something else. It's possible the Scary Movie franchise has confused me, but I don't remember ever feeling like I was supposed to be scared of Scream.

It always felt like a serious parody of horror films. Scream 4 is apparently not much different from the reviews I've read.

If Ghostface jumping randomly into frame whist wielding giant knife as the music does the standard scary move "DUN!" high note doesn't scare you, then you won't find Scream scary.

              That's all it is, basically.

I don't find the Scream movies to be all that scary, more suspenseful. And in a way, they're more of a mystery movie, between trying to figure out who's going to get picked off next and who's doing the killing.

This scene is as good as Scream gets. You can decide in 12 minutes if these movies are for you based solely on if you enjoy this scene, I think.

Yes Dayman but as you said, it's as good as Scream gets. While the movie has very interesting characters that we love to watch and ultimately do care about in fact, the opening to the first Scream movie is one of the best scenes in horror cinema and will be difficult to ever top.

                  Ok, I like that. Mystery/Suspense.

I can agree that I definitely felt that way while watching Scream. I guess I think of Horror in a different way.

The reminder of that element of suspense that was present in key scenes, actually just helped me remember what I did enjoy about the Scream franchise (at least the first two films as my memory of the third was mostly feeling unpleased).

I shall take back what I said before and give Scream its credit back.

                    "Don't **** with the original"

I'm not sure why I didn't like Scream 4 more. The opening was really good and if there isn't a Scream 5, I'm happy with how the series ended. The movie did include a discussion of the Saw franchise and most of the "horror" films of the past 10 years were mentioned.

Good thing we all have opinions. You're the guy who says Scream 2 shouldn't even be regarded while I say it's my favorite of the bunch. Maybe I shouldn't have passed off what I said as "fact." I didn't mean to at least. And I never said best, I said one of the best (you don't know if that meant Top 5 or Top 50).

And you're somewhat correct in that my horror movie viewing experience hasn't been expanded to all of the movies in the 80s and 70s, so if you would like to enlighten me with some of your favorite scenes if they're online, I'd be happy to watch them. But what was good then isn't necessarily good now, so good luck impressing me.

I listened to the latest /film podcast and this critic just destroyed the film.

There's a real disconnect between the film critics and the people that actually saw the movie. Dan Silver was on the BS Report and he said Scream 4 was the worst sequel of all-time, lol.

                              Regarding the ending:
