Ebert calls out Marrioti
This is pretty good stuff. Ebert just got major kudos points from me. I can't stand Marriotti or any of those other hacks on Around the Horn.

Ah, it's nice to see Marrioti get called out for being the A-Hole that he is.
Kudos to Ebert and DeLucca!Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Ebert calls out Marrioti
Good I always hated mariotti. I get where ebert is coming from on TV I can't stand watching Jay because it seems like he's always just yelling at the camera. He comes off as an arrogant pompous prick and it's good people are calling him out.Go Yankees
Go Rangers
Go Giants

Chris DeLuca of the Sun-Times absolutely murdered him yesterday.

Oh I forgot to mention this but Marrioti and Dan LeBastard oops I mean LeBetard must be brothers from another mother. They have almost the exact same style on TV. At least LeBetard isn't nearly as abnoxious.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

They need to replace Around the Horn with something else. PTI is quality, but on ARH they just ramble on and on about nothing most of the time. I think Woody gets lost in another dimension when he speaks.Comment

Re: Ebert calls out Marrioti
Jay Marriotti is the epitome of what's wrong in journalism.
It's sad that he makes it that way when there are actually good writers out there."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I loved it when when Max was host, it's fallen off a bit in my eyes, though I don't dislike Reali.PS: You guys are great.

Yeah Kellerman was definitely a better host. Reali isn't bad, but the show just doesn't do it for me like it used to.Comment

Re: Ebert calls out Marrioti
I'm so glad that blowhard Marriotti is out of Chicago...good riddance.
As an aside, I once met him at a club downtown, and he was standin there all alone with this "my sh!t dont stink" look on his weasel face...I was a little drunk and told my friends I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind...After they unsuccessfully tried to stop me I came up to him and proceeded to tell him how much of an a$$hole he is and how terrible he is as a "journalist".
Needless to say he tried to argue with me about how great he is, because he provoked a reaction from me...so I proceeded to tell him the reaction he provoked was akin to me admiring somebody elses fart...after more back and forth similar to that, he basically had enough of me and left the club alone.Last edited by ezekiel55; 08-29-2008, 05:04 PM.Comment

Re: Ebert calls out Marrioti
Mariotti is an idiot indeed and is getting what he deserves but hearing Ebert try to get all high and mighty on someone is laughably hyprocritical at best.
