    Question about Adobe Photoshop.

If I cut a picture from the internet and go to paste it into a Photoshop document why does it show up slightly transparent? If I open a new document it shows up slightly lighter than it actually is. Does anyone have any idea why? I can't figure this out for the life of me.

    Re: Question about Adobe Photoshop.

Part of the reason is web colors are different than photoshop colors. Funny thing is, photoshop is usually a little more vivid. Have you tried saving the photo, opening that in photoshop, and then copy and pasting while both files are in photoshop?

Also, your layers might be set to less opacity than 100 percent. When you paste the file onto the document, check the opacity of the layer and the channel.

I'm thinking that's the problem. Can't say I've had that problem before, but it definitely sounds to me like the opacity is not set to 100%.

The opacity is set to 100%. This is very strange. Everything is slightly lighter.

Maybe on the right underneath layers, you have it set to lighten colour or something, instead of normal.

Can you post the picture here? Or is it just all pictures in general?

Not to take over your thread but I didn't want to make another one.

Does anyone know how to change the color profile PS CS2 uses? For some reason, all of my whites show up as a manilla color. But when I go to save it's fine, so it's only the displaying of the colors in photoshop that is messed up. I have no idea how to fix it. It's a problem with photoshop as white shows up fine on my monitor(LG 22")

What do your Layer Properties say? And how are you pasting it? Have you checked your channels?
