    Internet Explorer 8 (Beta2) anyone?

    Just wondered if anyone tried this. I know the FF crowd will come out here, but I'm more interested of what IE users are seeing. I've read some pretty decent things about it. I never upgraded to 7 as the cons I've read outweighed the pros. But, this sounds promising. I'm also looking to run this on XP, not Vista.

    I've tried alot of browsers (right now i have minefield (64bit firefox), Google Chrome & IE8b2). I'm running Windows Vista 64, so while I don't know how it runs on XP, I can give impressions of my experience with it. Since installing it, i've moved toward using it in tandem with Chrome or Minefield because its really nice but has some issues. First off its a giant leap from IE7 in terms of responsiveness and usability. All of the sluggishness that IE7 had is gone. Accelerators are pretty useful although some may not like the graphical popup that happens (but that can be turned off). If you're purely an IE user i'd say you'd really appreciate the upgrade (esp if you're on IE6).

      I just downloaded it. For some reason it appears faster than Firefox. I did notice though that the Quick Reply option doesn't work in the new IE. I clicked it and it took me to the quote option. I did it three times, same thing.

      Of course it doesn't have AdBlock, which is a turn off for me. But anything is an improvement from IE 7. So I'll probably use it occasionally.

        Here is all you need if you plan on using IE;

        If you are going to use IE8 Beta,re-install IE7 Pro if already installed.
        Some of the functions still work with the new Beta.

        I'm a FF guy,but if I use IE I use IE7 with the IE7 Pro add-ons.

          You can download an ad blocker addon from IE's extensions site, works just like adblocker

          I didn't know IE7Pro worked with IE8, might have to get on that. Only real issue i have with IE8 is some pages don't show up right, but theres an icon right next to the address bar you click and it reloads in compatibility mode and then things run fine.

            It appears the Accelerators are what Firefox is doing with Ubiquity except without the command box that pops up. Personally I like the command box as you can access what you want to do, and it's easier for other commands to be added rather than the little blue box or whatever the accelerator pops up with.

              Thanks. I wasn't aware of that. I went to the extensions site, found Adblock Pro and tried downloading it, but failed. I'm assuming the site is down or something because I tried several times and it went to page cannot be found.

                Just tried it right now. Felt pretty slow in my opinion.

                I'll stay how I am.

                  Just uninstalled this Beta as it screwed up my security center and firewall.

                    Tried IE7Pro and it was slowing down the browser + the gestures weren't working as they should (close tab would simply make the tab blank).

                      Liked it at first, but getting too many "debug" and "do you want to continue to debug" type crap screens.
