Looking to buy a wireless router and need some help.

First of let me start by saying I know nothing about computers.

I'm looking into buying a wireless router and need some help. All i'll be using it for is a laptop xbox360 and wii.

    My price range is $50-$100.

    Any help would be great.

I go with the Linksys WRT54G but a lot of people on this board don't seem to like it. One thing you'll want to remember to do is use security on your wireless signal so someone wardriving it and doing bad things with your internet is reduced.

I looked into the D-Link 655 and from what i've read online today it seems like the one to go with.

I like my WRT54G, but I'd probably go with the DLink one from what I've heard from various people....The Linksys one is good, i've just heard more better stuff about DLink.

I have the Linksys and have no trouble. However, I'm not doing the 360 wireless (yet).

GIGGAS ---- what is "wardriving"? Stealing the unsecure signal?

Wardriving is people driving around in cars looking for unsecured wireless signals and trying to get on your network.

Really? Talk about your mislabeled terms. Roving internet geeks trying to sound tough, I guess. lol

I've been using the Linksys WRT310N for the past several months and I am thoroughly satisfied with it. Setting up some sort of wireless security through the router is a must, though. May be a bit outside your price range though at $130 MSRP, $110 at Best Buy.

Speaking of DLink, I have had two previous DLink routers suddenly and unexplainably fail on me (as in they stopped functioning completely); maybe I just have bad luck though.
