    HDTV problem...doesn't like white?

Alright, well my roommate just got a Phillips 32" TV but he's at home so I set it up for him. We don't have any HD channels because campus doesn't let us so we have regular cable.

Anyway, the problem I'm having is that whenever there's white on the screen, it makes little white bars that stretch all the way to the edge of the screen. When there's a lot of white on the screen at one time it buzzes and sort of distorts the picture.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Not sure about your problem, but just a heads-up - if the TV has a QAM (digital) tuner in it you should be able to get the local channels (CBS, FOX, ABC, NBC) in HD.
