Um, fail. You can't make a "before he was a superhero" show about a character whose entire existence as a superhero can be traced to one event. Dick Grayson was an absolute nobody before his parents were killed - no powers to come to terms with, no villains to form rivalries with, nothing. The reason Smallville works is that it shows the building blocks of Superman's existence as a superhero (powers, villains, formation of the Justice League, etc). But if he simply woke up one morning and became Superman, then Smallville would be a pointless waste of time. Much like this show is going to be.

Indeed,

A better "before they were a superhero" show would be one focusing on Bruce Wayne/Batman between the time he left Gotham to study and become "the Dark Knight" and his first case as the Caped Crusader in Gotham.

It'd be an action/adventure show with some great locales and a lot of myth building can be done as well.

There just can't be any justification for a super-hero, or even a sidekick, named Robin. There just can't.

Alternate thought: we need to come up with at least 10 better names than Robin for Batman's sidekick. I mean even "Acro-bat" would have been more digestable.

Easily one of the worst concepts for a TV show ever.

And that includes taking a commercial and turning it into a TV show.
